The Big Blue hotel is of a very high standard, no better location for the pleasure beach but a good walk to the town center and good night life. Tip, if you want the evening meal there book it when you book the hotel, we turned up at 1900 and told there was no table till 2100, pity it looked really good.

Found an italian restaurant called Nunzios in the town center which was superb, great meals and service and no waiting over th road fron the walkabout bar. One to miss is Yates found the food and service absolutely appauling!

If your broadminded and want something different try 'funny girls', but nowhere is cheap anymore tthe price of beer and taxis are disgusting £3.20 for j.smiths in f.gs and £2.75 in yates.

We chose to dine at the restaurant having browsed others in the resort - we had popped in for a drink in the afternoon and liked the decor and the boutique style video showing in the reception.

What a mistake!! The dress code says smart casual - didn't realise this meant trainers and track suits, the bar was full of families and prams with people resting their feet on the tables.

Our meal came - it was not what we ordered - also I have a gluten problem which I advised them of - all of the vegetables came smothered in a sauce - so I could not eat any!!

We aimed to retire to the bar area (approx 10pm) to drink the rest of our wine but there was again no room as children were busy playing tig!

The hotel is very nice but they need to aim their market at either couples or families as at the moment this is not working. Would not go back.

Went to Blackpool as surprise and last minute trip for my two children ages 9 and 5. The Hotel is everything you could ask for. Great breakfasts self-service however if you wish they will offer table service. We ate there each evening 2 adults and 2 children 2 mains and 2 desserts came in at £60.00 each night food was good. Pot belly pork was to die for. I found the bar a tad bit expensive at £3.75 a pint, whilst the Star bar which they also own was only £2.00 and practically the same building, and a nice family room.

The rooms were A1 we booked a superior family room, the kids had there own section with a TV EACH. Rooms where spotless and would give the appearance of been brand new. The kids loved the fact that the Big One went passed the room window. (Room 307) Almost within touching.

All in all a great spot and the staff are like the hotel well turned out and very nice.

First time in Blackpool and will be back. Well done Ryanair for flying to this great spot for free, I will be back for the illuminations in September, and will recommend Blackpool to all I meet.

This hotel is is lovely. The only problems we found were with the staff in every area and what we had promised for the new year party was terrible. The music stopped at 11.30 and we were all left sitting there waiting. The food probably would have been nice if they served it hot. Their arguament for this was that the hotel was busy. Obviously they can't cope with a full hotel. I would never go to this hotel again.
