The Majestic Hotel is located at the beach resort of Olu Deniz and its most commanding feature is the sheer size of the wonderful mountain that seems to rise straight out of the hotel grounds. Lie by the swimming pool and watch the paragliders circle the peak of Mt. Babadag. Of course, the greatest appeal is the beautiful beach of Olu Deniz, 5 minute walk, whilst the famous Blue Lagoon is only a 10 minute stroll. The Majestic Hotel is a perfect choice for families and couples looking for relaxing and happy holiday. Rooms at the Majestic Hotel have a bathroom, WC, Shower, hairdryer, air conditioning, satellite TV, mini fridge and either a balcony or terrace. The Majestic Hotel Facilities include a childrens club, internet services, mini market, swimming pool, table tennis, billards, basketball and a TV Lounge.
Meals & Drinks...B&B . HB . The Majestic Hotel offers a restaurant indoor and outdoor . Pool bar with a large screen TV . Dinner will be served in a traditional Turkish style buffet

We have stayed here for the last 5 years and have seen it come up from a basic hotel to a good standard hotel.

The staff have always been friendly and helpful and now there is a chef at breakfast who will cook omelettes and pancakes.

The situation of the hotel is excellent with lovely views of the mountain and within a few minutes walk of the lovely bay.

The local people are very friendly and greet us like long-lost friends every year.

For a budget hotel, you can't beat it and we will be returning next year.

"We were at the Majestic last yr sept. Not as bad as some ppl have tried to make out...."

We were at the Majestic last yr sept. Not as bad as some ppl have tried to make out. Remember you get what you pay for.
We got to the hotel early hrs of the morning, taken to our room, helped by the porter.

Room was clean, but small, balcony was small, bathroom small but clean litle bit of damp round the shower, but we managed. We got offered another room because of the amount of steps we were going up with the toddlers.

We did,nt get hot water all the time, but that seems to be the norm in Turkey.
Breakfast basic Turkish offering, your in Turkey remember.

The pool was large and clean with a little area for the kids, not to noisey day or night, but that could of been because of the time we went on hols, a bit of bumbum music from other bars and hotels.

Staff was great with our kids, and was always willing to help. Paid £20 to stay in room longer on the day of departure, most hotels expect you to pay for a/c.
BUT!! after reading some reviews, about belongings going missing as made me think.

Ok my kids have Turkish grandparents so we went to stay with them for a few days.

Long story short we took our kids jewlery with us, just to be safe, came back to hotel, didnt bother to take jewelry out of the case till a few days later. GONE. We phoned my inlaws to see if we,d left them. NO.

WERE NOT BLAMEING THE STAFF, but its made me think.

Get a safe deposit box, you will have to pay though.

"Right so OK we went at the beginning of the season, and this was not the first hotel we were..."

Right so OK we went at the beginning of the season, and this was not the first hotel we were offered the other one was not ready, but was supposed to offer a buffet, so lets get with it!! Bear in mind we were half board.
Bad Points 1st,

1 The initial room we were given was to the rear of the hotel overlooking the washing and fur trees.

2 We have been to Turkey on ten occasions and the food this time was rubbish you were given a meal in the evening with no alternatives. In fact it was the worst food in ten years, given that Turkish food is 2ND to French in world ratings. Poor show from Majestic.( Soup - Rice-Mixed salad - Some meat - basic dessert.) Every night with slight difference.

3 The local prices have soared and where it was once cheap to eat and drink out now as a family you would need a small fortune.

Not really much wrong other than this. And the cat noise.

Good Points.

1 We were moved to a better room after asking.
2 The staff were all OK with special thanks to Ozzy and his little mate JAN SOO
3 The surrounding moutains and backdrop views very good.
4 Bar did not stay open to late, not enough guests, quiet part of season.
5 Rooms were clean and tidy everyday.

On the whole 6 out of ten.

This is an addition to my previous report, whilst in Olu Deniz took several trips with Seahorse, office just down the road from hotel, the trips we took were very good, Dalyan & turtle Beach - Fethiye Market - Ghost Town - Oludeniz boat trip - And of course the obligatory Message and Spa. The tour guide we had was called Ati short for Atilla no Hun there though.

Warning should of known really, We went to a gold manufacturers where I bought a Tissot watch I was told by the owner he had seen them in Birmingham for £450+ I was to get it for £310 with the government giving the tax back at the airport meant this would drop to £250 ish, well I checked this out on the web and low and behold found the same watch for £221.

Lesson learned I will watch it next time - No pun intended.

How do i start probably the worst hotel we have stayed in. Rooms were very small and basic could not swing a cat in it. Never saw rep. Breakfast was basic turkish so cant say much about that evening meel was the worst ever the street dogs would of turned it down.

Only served one hidious meal that looked like slop chips were left out on just a tray ( cold and sogy). you have to pay £4 a nite for air con wich in aug you need .

Good points were keep room on till we left for price of £20 .

Plenty of good local bars and restaurants .

In summery would rather eat my own spleen with blunt knife than stay there again but would visit resort anytime just not the majestic!!!!!!!!!!

"We have just returned home from a wonderful week at the Majestic. The staff are excellent..."

We have just returned home from a wonderful week at the Majestic. The staff are excellent and very friendly. The cleaner visited daily and left clean towels etc every day, each day in a different shapes and sometimes with fresh flowers.

The only one down side to our visit to the Majestic was the evening meal and the lack of choice. We bacame bored of this very quickly and ate out for the rest of our stay. Breakfast was good however - traditional turkish breakfast as well as cereal/toast etc for the less adventurous.

The entertainment around the pool was also excellent - different games everyday for anyone who wanted to join in. The bar is open every night but music stopped at 1.30am at the latest. With air con in the room (which was worth every penny!!) we never heard a sound from outside and slept comfortably with 4 of us in one room.

We will definately be back at the Majestic next year, but will only book half board next time. Excellent holiday.

"Situated towards the back of Olu Deniz yet only a few minutes walk from the shops and..."

Situated towards the back of Olu Deniz yet only a few minutes walk from the shops and restaurants, we found the position of the Majestic fine as it was quiet even though the entrance was on the main road. The hotel is itself is spacious and well laid out, the rooms and bathrooms are well equipped and of a generous size. Each room has a small balcony, some with mountain or pool views. There is a reasonable size swimming pool but we found the restaurant rather utilitarian and a bit stark. Breakfast was pretty basic and we didn't stay for the evening meal.
Our main comment would be that the staff we came into contact with were somewhat quiet and reserved rather than outgoing and friendly which is usually the nature of Turkish hotel staff. Perhaps because it was the end of the season? As we only stayed for three days and didn't use the hotel facilities very much, this did not affect us and maybe if we had used the bar during the evening and swimming pool during the day this would have been different. It would not put us off returning as it was good value for money.

Lovely hotel the staff are excellent, nice pool area, room was ok but we were in the old block and there are two newer ones which are much nicer, bar and ozzy were very welcoming, food was nice but was not enough variety and was virtually the same every day, music in the bar was only a problem on one night when didnt finish till 3am!

They are aware there have been complaints about this so it should get better. only 10 min walk to the beach but half an hour to the lagoon. Would go back as long as we had a new room and bed and breakfast only.

"We went to Turkey for my Mums wedding. There were 6 of us staying at the Majestic for 2..."

We went to Turkey for my Mums wedding. There were 6 of us staying at the Majestic for 2 weeks.

Firstly as you will notice from other reviews Tariq and Ozzy are local legends.
I can not fault Tariq and Ozzy at the Majestic they were fantastic.

I have advice for everyone staying at the Majestic tho....Get air con and shut your doors/windows the hotel bar is noisy dont stay here if you want a quiet night sleep. On our first night it went on till 2 o'clock and we were ready to leave but then we got air con and it was ok and in the end we thought, if you can't beat em join em and we had some very noisy nights at the bar!! If you want a good night out drinking and loud music this is the place for you.

Also PLEASE GET A SAFETY DEPOSIT BOX!!! We didn't and had about £300 stollen in lira. I suppose as this was our first proper holiday we decided we probably wouldn't need one. I will always get one in future. We don't know who stole the money.

The rooms are very basic me and my boyfriend got 2 single beds which was a pain even pushed together, we did ask for extra pillows and never got them. Our room wasn't that clean either although my brother and his girlfriend and my other friends all say theirs was fine.

Yes the breakfast is basic but is fine for a quick breakfast and not forgetting you have loads of cafes/restaurants near by who all do breakfast.

You get what you pay for at the Majestic if your willing to get involved and have fun then you should be fine.

Our fav bars were the HELP! bar. We also love CLOUD 9. The food is fab there.

My last advice is watch out for the dogs. The Turkish do not respect animals like we do in the UK. We saw 2 dogs fighting and turkish men bashing them round the head with bars and chairs to make them stop. I also saw a turkish taxi driver drive over and kill a dog. It was horrible. I wanted to make people aware of how they treat the dogs.

Overall we had a great time but would probably look at staying some where different next time. I would say if you were a group of younger people or enjoy loud drunk hoildays or you are hard of hearing this is just the place for you.

"Beautiful location, 5 mins form beach. Lovely looking hotel with mountain backdrop. Clean..."

Beautiful location, 5 mins form beach. Lovely looking hotel with mountain backdrop. Clean and good value for money BUT would watch out for the staff. All very crafty and sneaky - had money stolen from the SAFETY DEPOSIT BOX!!! (about £100) they keep a master key on site, also had my wedding ring of 10 years stolen when our tv went on the blink in the bedroom. Said they would have to call out an electrician. Unbeknown to me (I was in the next room with other members of my family) an electrician turned up 10 mins later to 'fix' the problem and my rings were on the dresser. My husband was in the room but he said 'the electrician' had to turn off the electricity!! when the light came back on 2 mins later my ring had gone too!! The next day at breakfast the so called 'electrician' was serving breakfast and he couldn't even look at us and wouldn't make eye contact. My husband reported it to the staff but after that we only got looked at, laughed at and sniggered at throughout the rest of the holiday. All the staff were just a group of youngsters left alone to run that place on their own. So overall such a beautiful place but shame about the people that run this hotel. The rest of the locals were lovely.

My first time to turkey and i was very pleasantly surprised by the whole experience.
Everyone was extremely polite and friendly. The resort is stunning; turquoise sea, breathtaking scenery, gorgeous beach. Local shops and restaurants where abundant, offering a wide variety of choice.
I found the cost of eating out was brilliant compared to other european countries/resorts . Our most expensive meal was three course with wine 80 lire = approx £33, our cheapest was only £15.
The majestic hotel is a small, basic accomodation with friendly staff and nice pool ( not that you will use it much with the wonderful beach only 5 min walk away).
It is a great destination and will be visited again by myself and family in 2006. (carnforth)

The Majestic was exactly as stated, a basic 2 star hotel. It had a lovely pool, all staff were really friendly and overall the hotel was just what we expected. The location of the hotel was also great as the beach was only five minute walk away, if that. (Benington)

"Having been to Olu Deniz/Hisaronou around 10 times, it is the first time in this hotel and I..."

Having been to Olu Deniz/Hisaronou around 10 times, it is the first time in this hotel and I must say it was one of the better (although the wall to the bathroom was a little damp from a leaky shower - but it didnt bother us at all). The pool was spotless (as were the rooms) and the scenery of the surrounding mountains is breathtaking. You can lie on you sunbed watching the paragliders (I counted 15 in one go). The beach/lagoon is spotless and you can always find a sunbed! The entertainment in Olu Deniz is more low key than Hisaronou which is buzzing in peak season. I will be returning again next year.
