WE STAYED AT PLAYA BLANCA PARADISE ISLAND HOTEL, WE WENT AS A FAMILY PARTY OF 6, WE WERE VERY DISAPOINTED WITH QUALITY OF ROOMS, ALSO THE FOOD LEFT A LOT TO BE DESIRED.

WE WERE THERE WITH A LARGE PARTY OF SPANISH WHO WERE ALSO HOLIDAYING, THEY WERE THE ONLY PEOPLE TO BE TAKEN INTO CONSIDERATION ALSO WE ALL ENDED UP EATING ALIVE.

WHEN WE WENT TO BED EVERY ONE OF US HAD BITES ALL OVER OUR BODIES EVEN OUR GRANDCHILD OF 1 1/2. SO SO DISAPOINTED AS WE HAD BEEN PAYING OFF THIS HOLIDAY FROM LAST YEAR.

WE WENT TO OUR THOMAS COOK REP AND TOLD HER SHE JUST SAID SHE WOULD PASS IT ON,, SO SORRY WE EVER SAW THE PARADISE IT WAS HEARTACHE I WILL ALSO CONTACT THOMAS COOK ABOUT THIS.

THE ISLAND OF LANZAROTE IS BEAUTIFUL AND SO CLEAN ITS A PTIY ABOUT HOTEL, THAT RUINED OUR HOLIDAY. WE WERE NOT ON OUR OWN COMPLAINING OTHER PEOPLE ALSO COMPLAINED ABOUT BED BITES AND FOOD AS WE HAD PAID ALL INC AND ENDED UP EATING OUT FOR THE WEEK

"Arrived on the 28th early evening from b/ham quick transfer, after a long wait for luggage, ..."

Arrived on the 28th early evening from b/ham quick transfer, after a long wait for luggage, however when we arrived the accomodation was ok very comfortable beds room ok, dated decor but clean and tidy, pool areas great clean & tidy plenty beds and the food was great, the chinese food that we had was cooked in front of us by the chef and it was 2nds and 3rds it was that good.

The main restaurant was very good lots of choices and the quality and the standard was excellent, don't believe all the bad reports try it for yourselves, we are going back for xmas and even nxt year as a weeks holiday in the summer.

There was a free bus to and from the town, we got a taxi back on the evening and it cost us 2 quid for three adults!.

The staff are freindly and helpful ,lots to do during the day and the entertainment was ok some nights but not others. We often went out at night locals freindly & helpful!.

We cannot recommend it enough, however playa blanca is the quieter area of the island it suited us a treat.

Shopping was great lots of deals about and haggle like hell, the shops are struggling but we did have fun in the town. Airport was spotless and very efficient and well stocked with shops restaurants etc.

Overall it was great, would recommend it to anyone. Go enjoy it !!!! .

Arrived on 11 Feb (2 adults 2 children 11 and 7). First impressions were not good, teenager outside scateboarding and a one-bedroom apartment which smelt of stale smoke! Complained to reception and told could do nothing until next day so I asked for air freshner. A cleaner came with extra bedding and air freshner and literally gagged at the smell in the bedroom! Went back next day and were told could do nothing until following day. We told the receptionist about the cleaners reaction and, hey presto, a new 2-bedroom apartment at no extra cost! From then on the holiday was first class. Do not believe the bad reviews about the food being poor. We had breakfast, lunch and dinner every day in the restaurant and there were only 2 occasions that we were disappointed. The entertainment bar was the only bar where we had to queue. There was only one barman on duty and it did get busy. Day time activities were very good for adults and children. The usual kids mini disco in the evening followed by bingo and then the nights entertainment (most of this was good) but the bingo was the worst thing about the holiday with each number being called out in 5 or 6 languages! The entertainment staff were dutch and german and worked very, very hard the whole time. They took the time to chat to everyone and to learn as many names as possible. The pool bar was well run and the soft drinks, beer and hot drinks were self-service so that cut down on the queues. The pool areas were kept clean and tidy, there were plenty of sun loungers and we didn't see one broken one! One pool was heated (just) and the others were too cold for me to try but plenty did use them. The rooms were cleaned 5 times a week and we had clean towels each time. Please do not be put off by some of the bad reviews, we nearly were but decided to go with an open mind and were very pleasantly surprised.

We went to the Paradise Hotel in June 2007, I have to say this holiday was the worst that we ever been on.

The furnishings in the apartment were very old, the settee in the apartment that we stayed in smelt of sick and the bathroom constantly smelt like sewers.

There were always stray cats in the reception area and one night I sat on a chair that a cat had weed on, not a pleasant experience.

The food was awful and the service was terrible. We could never get a sun lounger around the pool and the beach was miles away.

Whilst we were there the poor holiday rep was being bombarded with complaints.

We stayed at the Paradise Island for 4 days, until we paid to move to another hotel, I could not stay there 1 minute longer. A very bad experience.

WE have just return from paradise island, i would like to point out the food quality was poor, chips for breakfast/lunch/eveing meal. Fish everyday with heads/tails still attached. Pasta also everyday, thankfully there was a chinese cooked most days which was very nice. The sweets consist of fruit/ice-cream or a watery moouse/whip tho on the last day chocolate cake came out. The staffing was very short, having to wait for tables to be cleaned before we could eat, and with only one bar staff on a 15min wait to be served was the normal thing most nights, tho it did improve to 2 staff after complaints. There were spainish people staying there and the staff seem to help them more. The rooms are very spacious but need a little updating, no problem with maid service. Would have liked the location a little nearer to beech/shops but a nice break with nice weather.

WE WENT TO THE PARADISE ISLAND IN SEPT 2007. WHAT A DISASTER! THE FOOD HERE IS TERRIBLE. IT IS ALWAYS COLD, GREEN BEANS AND CHIPS FOR BREAKFAST EVERYDAY. THE KIDS SECTION IS CHIPS AND CHICKEN NUGGETS OR TUNA PASTIES EVERYDAY. THE SNACKS ARE DRY BREAD WITH COLDSLAW, IF YOU ARE LUCKY YOU MIGHT GET A HAM SANDWICH. THE DRINKS MACHINES WERE BROKEN, THE STAFF WERE IGNORANT. YOU WOULD QUE AT THE BAR AND THE STAFF WOULD JUST LET THE SPANISH GO TO THE FRONT AND SERVE THEM BEFOR YOU. THE ENTERTAINMENT IS RUBBISH IN THE DAY AND EVEN WORSE AT NIGHT! THIS HOTEL IS MILES AWAY FROM THE MAIN SHOPS AND BEACH.

Very enjoyable holiday which was good value for money, would definatly return to the resort clean, quiet and family friendly. Hotel a little way from the beach but free bus provided but only ran until about 3.30pm later would have been better taxi 5 euro's to town centre. Weather great for so early in the season. We stayed here in 2005 and the hotel was exellent in all ways including food. When we came back this year we couldnt belive how downhill the hotel had gone. The food was allways served cold and the cleaness of the hotel was terrible. The hotel was owned by h10 group but now owned by hl group.

"We travelled in April (Easter) 2004 with First Choice, 2 adults & 2 boys (18 & 11)

We travelled in April (Easter) 2004 with First Choice, 2 adults & 2 boys (18 & 11)
A beautiful setting with nice surroundings and the apartments were well spaced and generally good, the pools were nice, and well maintained, but the gymnasium was sparse of equipment, and what was left was either broken or incomplete. There were also extra charges for named brand drinks, drinks after 11.00 pm, tennis, golf and sun bed mats, something that was unheard of on our previous all-in holidays.
This was our fourth all inclusive, and definitely the worst. The restaurant left a lot to be desired, empty tables were difficult to find and we usually ended up sitting at a dirty table, because it hadn't been cleaned up from the previous users. We mostly had to queue for food, and the choice was very poor, and not always well cooked, sometimes cold and usually a mish mash of the previous days menus. Sadly, the only thing that was consistent is the chips. They were always running out of cups and glasses, and tea, coffee, milk and fruit juices in the machines. There just wasn’t enough staff in the restaurant to cope with busy periods.
To be sure of getting a seat to watch the entertainment we had to queue at the door at 8.30 pm (entertainment didn’t start till 10.00 pm). Queues at the bars in the evening were too long, sometimes waiting up to 15 mins for a drink, but there was rarely more than one person serving, and the beer came in small glasses, less than one third of a pint. (Not enough staff again, or just a clever way of making sure that they didn't run up a large bar bill) the latter I think. This was the most that we'd paid for an all inclusive - but the least that we got in return.
Sorry Paradise Island, but you left us a little disappointed.

We have just returned from a very welcome weeks break at Paradise Island. Although the all-inclusive represented very good value for money we did go during the school holiday period and mealtimes could be a bit overcrowded. However, we found the food very good and something for everyone, including the children. Our children were a little too old for the kids club but not quite old enough for the adult activities. They consequently spent most of their time in the lovely swimming pools. The staff were all extremely helpful and very friendly. The resort is lovely but a good walk away so we used the free shuttle bus to the beach or a taxi, which was quite cheap. All in all we a had a lovely relaxing week and I would recommennd the Paradise Island Hotel to families, in particular.

Have just returned from this all inclusive holiday. Could not fault the accomodation, cleanliness or service from staff. Only let down was the food. A lot of Germans in the hotel and I think the food was geared towards them. The food was not awful, it was OK, but not what we would usually eat when on holiday. The choice of deserts was really poor, angel delight (in various flavours) and ice cream were on the menu every night, not exactly tempting. To sum up the hotel was good, but they really need to get their act together where the food is concerned.

"These days I book all my holidays through the internet, and this is the forth booking I have..."

These days I book all my holidays through the internet, and this is the forth booking I have made through medhotels.com, which for value for money is second to none, (especially if you can get a good flight deal). My wife (43) and I (48) have just returned from a nice relaxing all-inclusive week at the justly named Paradise Island on the outskirts of Playa Blanca. I said justly named, because this is a clean, pretty, well looked after complex, which I highly recommend. After you have walked up the local volcano called Mount Baja, with its moonscape terrain, you really appreciate how nice Paradise Island really is as you walk through the gates of the complex, and the vibrant colour of the flowers and trees hit your eyes. All the staff are very pleasant, with a smile and a “Hola” from everyone each morning. The food was a little repetitive, with pork as the main meat dish, seven days running, and not a lot of variety on the breakfast front, but all in all very edible. The entertainment was centred on the children, which meant many of the adults, playing cards in the piano bar (there’s no piano, in the piano bar). Some guests complained that the all-inclusive drinks finished too early at 11:00 pm; but they knew what the rules were, and should have planned for the early finish. The bar staff didn’t mind us stocking up prior to the close. Playa Blanca’s small beach is a pleasant 20 minutes walk from the complex, but you could use the free return bus ride to the beach. To recap, a nice pleasant holiday complex which is relaxing and value for money, which I would highly recommend.

This was a very good value for money holiday. The hotel was clean and friendly. The entertainment staff were good and the activities varied. The hotel facilities are excellent. The food was good and well presented. The rooms were spacious and clean; you can get a 2-bedroom room at an extra charge. Air conditioning and safes have a daily charge and require a deposit.

A person dresses up as a daisy for the children (so watch young children). There is a Daisy Disco each evening, only soft drinks are served in this bar (no glasses or smoking permitted in this bar).

The other entertainment room is fairly small in comparison to the hotel so get in early for a good seat. Later in the evening you could queue for drinks for 20 - 30 minutes as only 2 bar staff man each bar, so get a couple of rounds in early.

As a base for a golf society trip, the Paradise Island very suitably fitted the bill. The apartments and the complex as a whole were kept clean and tidy and while there were some daytime activities these did not intrude if you preferred a quiet sunbathe or drink on the terrace. Staff were helpful in the booking of transport for the golfers and provided private facilities for quizzes, sing-songs and prizegiving etc. Having experienced dubious 'all-inclusive' before it came as a nice surprise to see the selection and quality of the food provided and the pleasantness of the staff. The evening entertainment seemed to be well attended but as part of a party of 30 we tended to provide our own and not take up space in the main hall. All in all, not a bad place to have a quiet break.

This is a well run and well designed complec although it is situated quite a way out of the town centre. It is a good 20 mins walk, not particularly what you want if you've had one or two to drink. However there are Taxis available and they are very reasonable.
Although my children opted not to use the children's clubs I could see that they were extremely well run. When we went we had the option to go self catering, half board or all inclusive, we stayed with self catering as we had a young baby and it would not have been worth the hassle. We did use the hotel restaurant on several occasions and the food could not be faulted. Neither could the service of the staff who seemed to work from 7am till midnight. Even then they could always whip up a smile, especially for our baby who appreciated the attention. The entertainment programme was also fantastic and even captivated our 10 year olds attention, without her saying it was boring or embarassing.
The rooms were cleaned every day and the whole complex was spotless.
The pool was clean, however there was a problem with some children reacting badly to something when I was there. The reps did us justice though and they even provided an antiseptic cream free of charge to conter act the effect.
Overall a fantastic holiday and I would have no qualms with returning here again.

Despite the fact, that we booked 'half board' we were sent to a 'self catering' property, therefore having cooking facilities not needed and also below the star rating we have booked.(Not local Fault)
but for the (star) rating of this establishment it was well run clean and acceptable.
