"This is NOT a family hotel, had to pay 3 adult prices, youngest person 13, room far too..."

This is NOT a family hotel, had to pay 3 adult prices, youngest person 13, room far too small for three, had to pay for an additional room. Staff ok but not really friendly, entertainment in the evening was good, food good, bedding covers very poor.

Had low room overlooking flat roof, regularly covered in broken bottles, furniture, condoms and other rubbish.

Hotel mainly occupied by groups of young males and females, swearing and drinking, hardly a chance by the pools without swearing and drunken rude disrespectful behaviour.

Location was noisy with main BCM DJ run nightclub, strip bars, topless and lap dancing clubs, not suitable for a family, older couples or younger teens hence loud drunken behaviour at night in and outside the hotel.

Sick and urine stains and bottles/cans littering the area in a morning outside the hotel and the resort.

Ended up paying a lot of money out for trips out and an extra room, not a relaxing break.

Daytime entertainment poor although entertaimment staff were friendly.

Long to return here still! Had a great time, reception staff were a bit rude but everybody else was very nice and helpful.

Me and a friend of a similar age 18, were very happy with the other people in the hotel as alot of people there were quite young, and although noisy it was quite easy to get a good night sleep.

"We have just returned from a hen party 4 day holiday staying at the hotel sol Magalluf Park...."

We have just returned from a hen party 4 day holiday staying at the hotel sol Magalluf Park. NEVER AGAIN WILL I GO TO THIS AWFUL HOTEL. There were 14 of us ranging from early 20's - mid 50's. We are not a rowdy group and made no secret at the time of booking about being a hen party.

We had been travelling since 2.30am and arrived at the hotel midday the following day. We were told that our rooms would be ready at 1pm, so we explored the vicinity and went for lunch. Upon our return a couple of hours later some of our rooms were still not ready. The reception issued these rooms with a key so that the suitcases could be placed in there at least. However when we entered the room, the maid rudely rushed us out, rang reception who then proceeded to (impolitely) tell us that we were not to enter the room until it was ready.

The rooms were not ready until the evening!! This is absolutely absurd, so 6 of us had to share shower and toilet facilities for the first few hours!! As you can imagine, after spending nearly 12 hours travelling this was not very welcoming! We stayed half board and the food I cannot fault. There is however a dress code for dinner which the lady monitoring this seems to pick and choose who she does or does not like. If she does not like what you are wearing you will be asked to go and change and then you will have to queue up again. For example some people were allowed to walk in there with kaftans others (always our party) were not.

The waiting staff at evening meals had the worst attitude I have ever known. When taking our drinks order he would never write it down and then when we pointed out that some drinks were missing (and there was every night) he would roll his eyes and sigh!! On the second night we returned at 5am in the morning, there were 4 of us that were walking down the corridor in heels and it made a noise. We were not singing / laughing or anything to that effect. One guest made a complaint about us and the security guard came up.

We apologised to him. The next morning at 10.30am, the maid walked into the room (did not knock) woke up 3 of the girls picked up the phone and shoved it into one of the girls ear. It was reception who DEMANDED that she wanted the girls down there in 10 mins. They went to the reception and the attitude of this lady was despicable!! She said that someone had made a complaint about noise and that the girls MUST sign a piece of paper claiming that if they made noise again, they would be evicted. Not once did she ask for our version of the story or the fact that we had already apologised for our heels making noise. The girls signed this paperwork which I DO NOT AGREE WITH THIS POLICY AT ALL.

I am going to take legal advise on the authenticity of this practise as you cannot enforce that anybody signs paperwork to which they have not consented to the written content (i.e. if its a statement it needs to be in the words of the person providing the signature). Once they had co-operated, apologised again and signed the paperwork, in the same condescending tone she told us that it was a 3* family hotel and that we should have realised this before we booked there.

I would like to point out that we booked this hotel direct, made no secret of being a hen party and they certainly did not refuse over 3k of our money did they!!! THIS IS AN OUTRAGE!!! How dare we be patronised like this. This hotel has such POOR MANAGEMENT; if they did not want a group of 14 girls they should have refused our booking from the offset instead of GREEDILY taking our money.

I CANNOT STRESS ENOUGH HOW APPALING ALL THE STAFF WERE IN THIS HOTEL. It’s as if they took one look at a large group of girls, decided that we would be trouble and then treat us like dirt. WOULD NOT RATE THIS HOTEL ONE BIT. I have not been to a Spanish resort for years and cannot remember Spanish people to be this rude. I am sticking to Scandinavia thank you very much!

I must thank them for providing me with the worst level of customer service that I have EVER received. I am a customer services manager myself and their staff would not last 2 minutes in my employment. DISGRACEFUL!!

"We have just arrived back from an 8 night stay, we absolutely loved it it was the best food..."

We have just arrived back from an 8 night stay, we absolutely loved it it was the best food we have ever had in a hotel and we have stopped in plenty believe me, the only prob was a bit rowdy on a night and into the morning we were located 100 yards from BCM and the strip but apart from all the banging and shouting until early hours, it was great, there was alot of hens and stags but they seemed ok and they were never any trouble.

We are booking again to go in October this year with the kids, we would highly recommend it no probs.

Group of 12 ladies in our 30's to celebrate my hen do. We were all very pleased with our accomodation. Good sized rooms which were very clean. Location was superb for the beach, shopping and nightlife. Although not too near that our sleep was interupted by noisy bars. I would definatly recommend this hotel, and we are already planning to return again next year. (liverpool)

"Situated in the centre of Magalluf it was in the best position for all the nightlife,..."

Situated in the centre of Magalluf it was in the best position for all the nightlife, beaches and shops. The rooms were very nice (the best we've stayed in, in magalluf out of 4 visits) they were cleaned dailey and the cleaners were very friendly and would come back later if you were still in your room. The breakfast was good, full fried breakfasts, fruit, cerial etc.. evening meal was very good too. Lots to choose from every day. Would deffinately stay at this hotel again as we think it is the best hotel in magalluf. Brilliant resort to stay in. We will be back for our holiday 2005. (Nottinghamshire)

"My daughter and I needed a short break and although this was not the top of our list to..."

My daughter and I needed a short break and although this was not the top of our list to visit after hearing 'dodgy' stories about Magaluf we did not have much choice. However, when we arrived at the airport we were well looked after and at the Hotel it was painless sorting out the rooms and we were pleasantly surprised. It was so much better than we were expecting. Balcony, TV in the room, great bathroom. We were up on the 7th floor which was bearable and the lift worked which was just as well. The customer care was very good. We had a phone call from reception asking us if everything was ok after a couple of days. We didnt know whether that was usual or because we were two women on our own but we thought it was a nice gesture. The corridors can get a bit noisy with people coming back to their rooms at night, with doors banging etc. but it wasnt a big problem. We had good views of the bay. We did not try the daytime activities as we are not that way inclined but there were some 'gentle activites' like table tennis and bowls. A nice but small indoor pool and one outside. It also had a nice sun roof too, but can get a bit busy. The food was very good, but after a couple of days can get samey but the quality was pretty good and plenty there. It was very funny one night as they had a Spanish Evening and we were looking forward to this meal. We queued up at the restaurant entrance with everyone and we were given a thimble of spanish sherry to drink whilst queueing. The youngsters who organised it were dress in spanish costume and had decorated the doors. Inside the table cloths had been changed to red and green and we thought 'right, we are in for a real spanish meal'. I never expected to be sitting down eating steak and kidney pie! We did laugh and that is what you have to do really. Have a good sense of humour and go with the flow.... It was basically the same food as every other night. This holiday was a bit of a change as we normally go to Greece and the food is brilliant there, we did not once find anywhere that we could have a traditional spanish meal in the whole of Magaluf. It is mainly english fry ups, burgers and chicken nuggets, oh and on Sundays English roast, but we never expected anything else so were not surprised. It was nice and warm in November (the end of the month), warm enough to sit on the beach but there had been a storm so the beach had a lot of dried seaweed. We picked up a boat trip from there which took us a long the coast and that was nice to do, took us to a Nudist Beach (no one there!) and some people jumped off the boat to have a swim. All in all, I would definately not to Magaluf in the high season. Going in November there are mainly older couples and OAP's but it was very pleasant as it was just what we needed, fairly quiet and sedate and the evening entertainment was pretty good. They did have some shows and dancing (sequence dancers do take over) but we managed just as well and had a good time, later on in the evening they do have disco music but not for long. With these Sol Hotels you can visit them and we did have a look at them but they do seem all the same. I would actually go back with my husband as he would enjoy it, being HB - although he is a Greek Fan as am I and do prefer the atmoshpere of the greek life. (Horley)
