This aparthotel is special because its the perfect place if youre looking for excellent value, self-contained family accommodation and entertainment, a stunning pool and a great location near the centre of a bustling resort. Please note: this is a family complex, and facilities are not suitable for those travelling without children.

We (thankfully) only stayed here for 4 days as we spent 5 days in another hotel in Arenal and just came down for the entertainment of Magaluf. But by the end of the first day there we were gutted and wanted to go home.

The hotel apartments are small if you are going as a family, they are rarely cleaned/towel changed (once during our stay) and they have no air con and slow ceiling fans that do nothing. It was like a melting pot by the end of the day and absolutely unbearable to sleep in.

Had we not been traveling with children we would have left the balcony doors open but that and given the nature of the resort and the fact that a woman had her handbag stolen from by her feet in the clubroom, we chose to sweat it out - nights became a dread!

To top it off the cot we were given was almost falling apart - i'd advise u to check the fittings before putting ur baby in as we needed to tighten them all up. The double bed is made up of a sofa bed that is made of slats as thin as cardboard and my husband (avg size/weight) fell through them at 3 in the morning when he was asleep.

The corridors/stairs on the blocks are dirty and look like a council block and the 1 tiny lift per block is slow and just gets a small buggy in.

The hotel itself was generally badly maintained and in desperate need of refurb in the club room. The pool itself was nice, clean and spacious but the sunbed situation was bad - not enough 4 the no, of guests yet no space for anymore as they were cramped and all over the place as it was.

There were no parasols at all which i thought was bad at a family hotel - we had to buy one to shade our baby. - the Thomson reps also police the sunbeds every morning putting letters not reserve them with towels and moving peoples stuff off them and threats to do so over the tanoy - a great start to the day!

The hotel, whilst advertised as a family hotel it seemed to be more families with teenage children and some of the guests (adults included) made it seem like 'chav city', The entertainment was tacky but bearable but that didn't bother us as we went out most of the time.

The music is loud until midnight which didn't bother us but might have if we were in the opposite block directly above the clubhouse.

The food in the red lion was nice and reasonable but there are so many places to eat in Magaluf u will have plenty of choice. Magaluf was very busy, lots of youngsters as expected but the beach was lovely. There is plenty of shops, bars and restaurants but nothing really for young families.

Tom Browns was very close and the food good and reasonable prices. We also tried the Cottage as it was recommended on a review but it turned out to be disappointing, but was so cheap i suppose it was a case of getting what you paid for. - Which to be honest, sum up this hotel.

And by the way, don't bother asking the reception for
anything - they are lazy, useless and try to con you! We asked to extend our room cause our flight was late and were given a leaflet for a middle man holiday shop. We asked for them to call us a cab and they insisted there was no answer but arranged a very expensive transfer instead!

My advice is, if you are a family with young children, don't book here and maybe try out Palma Nova, El Arenal or the 'Continental Park Superfamily hotel in Alcudia -it was great! If you have already booked - take a fan!

Also, take the Thomson's own rating and reviews with a pinch of salt - i submitted a review on there too which conveniently was not put on?! And their score is very optimistic when compared to impartial sites like this!

"This is the 6th time we've been to the Fiesta Tropico. We recommended it to some friend..."

This is the 6th time we've been to the Fiesta Tropico. We recommended it to some friends so they decided to come with us and see for themselves.

I have to say that it was a bit of a disapointment! When we first went there in 1999 it was a Superfamily complex. They shoud've left it that way!! The first week wasn't too bad apart from youngsters cutting through to get to the Jungla! Thomson decided to half fill it with 18-30s in the second week.

They we're in the pool at night being really noisy. Bottles and glasses were thrown from the balcony a couple of times. Security did put a stop to it quickly though. If you asked them politely if they could lower the noise, they just got abusive. Although not all were like that. The apartments weren't cleaned as well as in previous years. Another nightmare is the sunbeds!!!!!! You have to be up early to get one as most people to the German thing and reserve lots of them and then disappear down the beach for hours!!!!

The Red Lion snack bar and bar staff were very good as were the Fiesta entertainers. Thomson reps weren't much help....apart from Nikki. She was great. If you go to Magalluf you have to see The Pirates Adventure...5 times we've been and it's still amazing and excellent value for money. Eating out....The Cottage. Big portions of good english food. It does get busy so sometimes there's a wait but it's worth it. I would've recommended Happy House before but my hubby's chair collapsed and the staff (especially the manager!!!) were too busy laughing at him to ask if he was ok. He then blamed my hubby for leaning back on the chair which he hadn't done! We've been going there since we first visited Magalluf and have always told people how good it is but when we told the owner the next day he wasn't the least bit interested!! We didn't go there again! Spice is good for all you kebab lovers. Not the largest kebab but very nice. It's next to KFC on the strip...nearly opposite BCM night club. Golf Fantasia in Palma Nova is good.

We didn't manage to get to Aqualand this year but we have in the past and can recommend it especially for the kids. It can be expensive once you're in there so try and take your own food. For your everyday shopping look out for The Bip. It's a local supermarket and is much cheaper than the Spar shops. Bottles of San Miguel for €1.05!!! We'll overall a good holiday apart from a few idiots. Saying that, Magalluf is for youngsters as well as families. I just didn't expect The Tropico to be that noisy. I would still consider going back though as I love the setting. Just be warned, it's not only for families anymore.......especially in July and August.

There are also talks of swapping the Tropico and Sahara around which might make it better. One last thing...if you want a very friendly bar make sure you find Level One snooker bar. Jo and Lee and the rest of the family will look after you. Oh yeah and Craig the bar stool!!! It's got 2 full sized snooker tables as well as 2 pool tables, darts, sky tv and a pinball machine. We had some good days and nights in there!!!! It's on the other side of the road from Burger King and is up the stairs just past Maxi Burger. Anyway, I hope this guide helps. hope you all have a good holiday. We'll hopefully be back in 2009!

We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday but we did specify when we booked it that we would like a pool view. When we complained to reception they told us they had no idea when a room would become free. We didn't bother them again as they didn't appear to be very helpful apart from a Scottish lady. We had self-catering and have always had a microwave, so we were annoyed that we had to hire one!

Also the towels were only changed twice and not 3 times as specified! The entertainment seemed hopeless at night so we never stuck around after that and entertainment during the day left a lot to be desired. The food served round the pool was okay. The best 2 restaurants we found were Tom Brownes opposite Benny Hills and the Azul next to Sol Trinidad. Will definitely be giving Goodfellows a wide berth if we return to Magaluf!

The sunbeds are too crammed around the pool too and you find it difficult to be able to pick your way through to get to your apartment. However, I have been to far worse hotels so I'm not exactly giving it a black mark.

We had a fab time in Majorca . Booked cheap deal at the Fiesta Tropico. Staff were great, place was always being cleaned. Entertainment was great for the kids and the pools are terrific. The hotel is situated close to everything, the beach is only 5 mins away and all the shops have everything you need. There is a restaurant you can use that is in the sister hotel across the road..Saharia. Only if you look cold buffet food!!! Although we were self catering I DO NOT cook on hols. There are loads of restaurants around but a bit of advice and so you do not waste any money, as we did not find this place until the end of our first week. The best food and best place to eat is called the Cottage. The staff are fab people really nice and helpful and the kids loved them! The meals we had were always HOT ( other places beans and toms were stone cold!!)... the portions are huge, and Alisons homemade Chicken Curry is unbelievable. The Cottage roast dinners, that you can have everyday are just like home... real mash(for some reason other places use the powdered stuff!) lots of fresh veg and real gravy. To be honest I like my soaps..... so I would time our meals on a Sat and Sun around the Ominibus times... We would eat and watch... for other soapaholics.. get there early to get a table as on Sunday as The Cottage is very popular with the Local expats. Anyway cannot wait to go back in 2008!!

Weather was perfect. Been to fiesta sahara tried tropico for the kids this time. Son was assulted by life gaurd went to thomson rep guy called paul what a t**t. First he said lifegaurd was trying to save him then said he didnt touch him other holiday makers came over and said they seen lifegaurd assult him which he totally ignored. Never use thomsons again. Apartments very basic had no towels or toilet roll for a day. Went to entertainment few nites went over at 12 security was round at 12.30 to get u up to your rooms then wasnt to be seen when large groups of guys and girls were coming through apartments to go to the fiesta jugla singing swimming in pool and even doing things to rude to put on here. Also about 80 sunbeds for god knows how many people. The resort itself is great with plenty to do very lively at nite plenty of places to eat

Stayed at the Fiesta Tropico for a week in May07. Was very impressed. Apartments were very good, plenty of space for 3 adults and 1 child. They were very clean and plenty of bedding. Could of done with a change of sheets more than once a week. Complex was excellent for the children, always something going on for them. The pool was very large and clean and a lifeguard on every day. The bar staff were friendly and very effecient, the value for money for food and drinks was very good. There was something on every night for the kids including a mini disco. The apartments are a minute or 2 walk away from lots of shops, bars and places to eat. Chldren are welcome everywhere. Recommend the Pirates night for the kids, it was enjoyed by us adults too. Kids rep were very nice and work hard. Heard all the horror stories about trying to get a sunbed during the day but as it was not high season it wasn't a problem, didn't hear a lot of noise from the neighbouring 'Club 18-302 hotels either.

Excellent family holiday. Read reviews before we went which were a bit off putting. Hotel and apartments very clean, pool was freezing when you first got in but became bearable. Weather was fab. Games and quiz around the pool during the day, lifeguard on watch. Kiddies disco, then bingo , then entertainment on night time. Everyone friendly in bars and restaurants. Benny Hills had arcade for the kids but I wouldn't rate it as highly as other people. Food in Tom Browns was good value for money. Alcatraz does a nice steak and gammon is lovely. We spent our last night eating at Happy House on the beach and it was really nice, wish we'd tried it sooner. We spent most of our evenings in a pub called Bamboo Club, just up the road from Benny Hills and Goodfellows. Served kids non alcoholic shots which they thought were great. Very friendly and made you feel welcome with the kids. Rep from bar next door, bar 29, kept trying to get us in but it was too noisy for the kids, lots of groups in. Would definitely go back to the hotel Tropico, hardly any noise on nightime, once or twice we heard younger ones coming back early in morning but hey, they're there to enjoy themselves too. At the end of the day, your holiday is what you make it.

I came here with my mother and my younger siblings and my cousions. We found the accomidation fine apart from the fact we were looking out at a wall. However we were probally lucky as we were away from the pool so it was quieter at night and in the mornings. The pool had a life guard which we dont tend to see around abroud, this made my mother an di feel more comfortable of the saftey of my youngest brother. There were many facilities on site for all ages and many activities going on which kept everyone entertained. Expecailly the party dnaces in the swimming pool, very funny the morning after going to BCM with my cousion. I hope to go back there next year with a group of friends, as everyone was very walm and friendly and where happy to help if you needed something.

If you want butlins with the sun then this is the place to go. People screaming until 3 in the morning (mostly the scottish). If you want any sleep then keep away. I know that magaluf is this kind of resort and it brought home that I have outgrown this resort as it starts at 11 at night until 5-6 in the morning. The apartments are basic but ideal for a place to rest ur head. The pool is great. Sunbeds, Ah sunbeds..... some people get up and wait at 7 in the morning and the staff dont unlock them until 9, I was going down at 8.50 and getting exactly what I wanted.( they looked so stupid waiting, rubbing their eyes through broken sleep from the night before.
While we were there some people threw bottles into the kiddies pool and were thrown out the next day....GOOD so the security is very good.
overall a good place for daytime stuff as lond as you dont want much sleep. (Norfolk).

"This was our first holiday abroad for many years and i have to say that i did have a nice ti..."

This was our first holiday abroad for many years and i have to say that i did have a nice time. My youngest child is nearly 10 and she had a whale of a time. My eldest is 15 and to be fair the facilities at the hotel were poor for her. She was too old for any kids clubs and too young to join in with the 'adult' games - ie water polo (over 16's only).

The standard of the rooms was ok, very basic but then we weren't there to spend time in our room. I did have a ceiling fan that didn't work and my fridge thought it was a freezer, i mentioned this to the reception desk on our way out one evening and was told it would be repaired. I expected it to be the following day however i was told it would be that evening - and it was! One member of the reception staff was very rude and unapproachable but in all they weren't too bad.

Location was great, walkable distance to the water parks, pirates, beach and all shops that you needed. Tom Browns was the main place we all ate in, either the one on the beach or with the mini golf. And we also had several nights out to The Green Parrot. Fantastic entertainment!!!! The entertainment at the hotel was poor and the kids disco was more aimed at little ones up to the age of about 6.

We did have problems with older kids being noisy late at night/early hours of the morning and the occasional drunken woman throwing herself into the pool at 1 in the morning and trying to get a sunbed after 9 am, forget it. We complain about the Germans - why????????

In all, a nice time, got what we paid for with the standard we expected. (Chelmsford)

Have you got a beer belly/tattoo/kids called Shania or Destiny? Would you like a job in the German army guarding sunbeds from being used by other holidaymakers? Did you enjoy Hi-de-Hi with its incessant ding-dong-ding? If so then this is definitely the holiday for you. After a week of no sleep due to kids and adults running around the hotel shouting and screaming until 6am and then being woken up by the sunbed guards I would not recommend this hotel to anybody looking for a nice family holiday. Although the hotel was very clean, the apartments were very basic and I would not class this as a 3*. Although there are signs stating that towels don't reserve sunbeds I wouldn't have dared argue with the beer-bellied, tattooed welshman who wanted at least 20 sunbeds especially when his 16 stone tattooed daughter (and girlfriend) appeared scowling from her balcony. If you have booked to go when the World Cup is being played you've still got time to cancel and I would recommend for a nicer holiday you go to Palma Nova. (Barrow-in-Furness)

Had read some bad comments on internet but hotel and resort were fantastic, entertainment team were great with kids and adults, eating out red lion under complex were great and if you were going out of the complex the moon bar next door to the hotel was fab and on magaluf beach. Tom browns was great value for money and great food,we had a pool view and didn't hear any noise from the rest of the resort, we did find it was cheaper to go to some of the attractions ourselves and pay on the door as they say as the thomsons prices were a bit added on. Location of hotel is great as you can walk to nightlife areas within 5 minutes and water parks 10 to 15 minutes so good location, all in all had great holiday and would recommend it to people with younger children. Hotel pool was very clean and had a life guard every day from 9.30 in the morning till 18.00 which made us feel a lot at ease when our 5 year old was in the pool. (ellesmere port)

Great Family hotel , lots to do day and night. Room facing Poolside so was nice and quiet at night . sunbeds where hard to come by in the morning unless up before 9. The Hotel is minutes from the beach, restaurants, bars and the water parks.(get tickets for the waterparks or any shows you go to from the local ticket offices as Thomsons add a lot on) Went with Portland Direct on line Found them to do a great deal.

The Fiesta Tropico brilliant. It is in an ideal location for families to enjoy the entertainment at the hotel or to go into the resort, just down the road, to enjoy the bars and restaurants.

The Kids Club again was excellent, like the previous 4 years we have been on Thomson Superfamily holidays. The reps were all great (apart from one which I won't name!) The Fiesta staff were excellent - especially Craig who is brilliant with kids and adults alike, what a star!

Great thing about here is everyone is English! Mind you, you would think a few were German with the sunbed fiasco!! Have to admit, we were the sad ones getting up at 7am to sit and wait for them being unlocked. We did however wait, not just put our towels on locked sunbeds then disappear until 9 when they were unlocked, then again disappear when they were laid out and come back at lunchtime! We stayed with our towels and then stayed on our sunbeds!

The lifeguards were a bit of a challenge - kids were frequently being told off for squirting their water guns and people were getting wet! Our daughters are only 6 & 7 and thought the fun of the pool was actually getting wet!

All in all, a brilliant place and would recommend it to all families who enjoy having fun! Yes it is a Butlins aborad, but yes it IS a Superfamily hotel and thats exactly what the kids enjoy. If you don't, book a week in the Lakes!

One thing I would advise though, we booked through Thomson and spoke to people who booked through Portland Direct. They saved £500 on exactly the same holiday and booked at the same time! (also heard ***********.com do brilliant deals on holiday insurance - £25 for family of four)

Room 6002 is excellent - ground floor, right next to childrens pool. Brilliant so kids can go in and out of room and you don't have to leave your sun lounger! And close to the bar!! Stay on the other side of the block (6001) and you are facing the Fiesta Jungla which is a Freestyle hotel and believe they suffered from sleepless nights with noise from the Jungla. We didn't hear a thing.

Can't wait to go back - but we heard a rumour Thomson won't be there next year - not sure if its true!

This was my 5th time going on holoday to the Fiesta Tropico, and my family and my self enjoyed it just as much as the first time we came. My eldest daughter went to BCM dance planet for the first time, and really enjoyed her self. It was a safe place inside with a free bar all night and free gifts when you go in, exellent for only 23 euros. The pool on the complex is really clean, it is cleaned every morning and evening at 8.00. The apartments them selves are spectacular. They are cleaned every othere day and it is done to a high standard. The resterants are really cheap, and you get large portions of food. I recomend the alcatraz and the europa. (widnes)

I am not saying this place is perfect but if you get a pool view and can handle watching the pathetic people sit for two hours from 6am onwards waiting for sunbeds(I went down every day at 9am and still got at least one) it is worth it the pool is great the staff work very hard and if you don't like it I won't see you next year!!!! On arrival it looked o.k.....Then it went downhill if lucky you get a room around the pool area, not us though our balcony overlooked the back of the kitchens on the main road and only about five metres away and very noisy till gone midnight...relax with an evening drink on your balcony, FORGET IT. Never mind next day chill out by the pool..No chance. The brits take the mick out of the germans but we are as bad, first thing in the morning every single bed covered by a towel and hardly a soul to be seen. Still the pool looked good so the wife and i took turns with the plastic chair we managed to grab from the bar while the kids splashed and ran around the kiddies pool, we thought our two youngest got their feet cut and sliced while running around,,HOWEVER two days later a young boy got a loose tile from the pool embedded in his foot and we found other kids had got cuts. They closed the pool gave it a quick hoover and re-opened it...excellent safety policy, errr...NO!! Then one night about 4a.m. girls running along the corridoors banging on all the doors screaming BRING IT ON while running away...very mature and so brave with it. Dont you just love the brits abroad (no wonder the europeans love us). Entertainment..all i can say is hi-de-hi campers. Even the reps talk to the adults like kids. The resort, well it's perfect for british lager louts and ladettes not ideal for real kids though. Frankly i holiday abroad to escape Britain and explore something different but this place is just little britain with sun. And it isn't as cheap as you might think. Only saving graces were the beach the western water park and the Happy House, which was the only place to eat. Would we go back....ONLY KICKING AND SCREAMING. (Faringdon)

WE HAVE JUST RETURNED AFTER A WEEK IN MAGALUF STAYING AT THE FIESTA TROPICO. WE ALL THOROUGHLY ENJOYED IT ESPECIALLY THE KIDS WHO ENJOYED THE KIDS ACTIVITIES IN THE DAY ESPECIALLY DURING THE HOTTEST HOURS OF THE DAY. THE THOMSON AND FIESTA REPS WERE FAB AND I COULD NOT FAULT THEM ONE BIT. DID NOT EAT MUCH AT THE RED LION PUB WHICH IS ACTUALLY BY THE POOL ATE 1 BREAKFAST AND FOUND IT A BIT PRICEY BUT THE BAR MOON WHICH IS JUST NEXT DOOR TO THE HOTEL WAS GREAT LOTS OF CHOICE TO EAT AND VERY CHEAP. BIT DISAPPOINTED WITH THE CLEANING OF THE ROOM NEVER CHANGED BED SHEETS ONCE WHILE WE WERE THERE AND ONLY THE TOWELS ONCE. ALSO THE NEED FOR A SUNLOUNGER WAS UNBELIEVABLE. PEOPLE QUEUING UP AT 8AM IN THE MORNING JUST TO PUT THEIR TOWEL ON IT AND THEN GO OUT FOR THE DAY AND NOT USE THE SUN LOUNGER TILL ABOUT 3PM. I AM NOT A SUN WORSHIPPER BUT IT WOULD HAVE BEEN NICE TO GET 1 JUST TO RELAX FOR AN HOUR BUT SOME DAYS THAT WAS IMPOSSIBLE. BEST DAY OUT WAS AT THE AQUAPARK ABOUT 20 MINS AWAY WALKING KIDS REALLY ENJOYED IT ALSO MARINE LAND THE DOLPHINS, SEALIONS AND PARROTS WERE FAB. "We've just returned from 2 weeks in Magaluf and although the weather wasn't great ..."

We've just returned from 2 weeks in Magaluf and although the weather wasn't great all the time (bit rainey & overcast) we still had a fantastic holiday! The Fiesta Tropico is a lovely hotel and the staff were great! The pool is huge and very clean but be warned, if you want a sunbed then you'll have to get up at 8am when they're unlocked otherwise you won't get one - but who wants to lay round the pool when the beach is only 5 minutes walk away?!
The apartment was lovely and clean and had a well equipped bathroom and kitchenette (although we didn't bother much with cooking!). The balcony was huge - ideal for sunbathing in the evening!
The resort was excellent and catered for everyone! We found that the best place for food was a restaurant called 'Bar Moon' which was next door to the hotel. The food was lovely but also really cheap!
The nightlife in Magalluf is amazing! We spent most of our time in BCM N9ght Club - it only cost 20€ and you got access to 3 bars/clubs, unlimited free drinks all night and countless free gifts not to mention the amazing laser shows and dancers every night! We also visited the 'Strip' a few times where there are loads of different bars and clubs to visit and so much to do every night!
Our favorite part of Magalluf has got to be the beach - its beautiful and we spent many lazy afternoons there but beware of the guys that come around selling drinks as they WILL rip you off - one poor girl payed €8 for a can of Fanta!
All in all, I would recommend Magalluf and the Fiesta Tropico to everyone and will definately stay at a Fiesta Hotel again! (Hampton Court)

This was our first package holiday abroad with our children (we normally use family timeshare). We had a fabulous time and would have no hesitation in recommending Thomson superfamily at the Fiesta Tropico to our friends and family. Be aware it is Butlins abroad - non stop entertainment, quizzes, bingo but for families with younger children the kids have an absolute ball. Jessica and Cameron both attended the kids club each day (their choice, not ours) and became very attached to quite a few of the kids club reps. The pool in the complex is fantastic and the hotel staff couldn't do enough to help. Our toilet sink blocked and my husband went down to reception to ask for it to be fixed - it was fixed within the hour. Eating out anywhere in Spain is not as cheap as it use to be, but you got value for money. Kids menus were much better and more extensive than you get in Bitain. Tom Browns next to McDonalds is has great food and great staff, with crazy golf to play while you're waiting for your meal (kids loved it). Westernworld waterpark is excellent as is Fantasia Golf and a must is 'Pirates'.

"We were very disapointed with the weather, Majorca is not hot enough in October for us - we ..."

We were very disapointed with the weather, Majorca is not hot enough in October for us - we had 4 great days, 7 so so & 3 awful! But we took a gamble on the time of year & I wouldn't do it again.
The beach & sea are great, plenty of restaurants serving all kinds of food (SPECIAL NOTE TO 'THE HAPPY HOUSE' ON THE SEA FRONT not very snazzy, but great food, staff & location, we went to lots of diferent places but the next night always went back there!
Has 2 16 year old girls with us & they loved Magaluf. Went to the Inca market - little disapointed was expecting more Spanish locals selling Spanish produce, was mainly Africans selling fake goods you can buy in any market in the UK.
The Tropico, was a tiny bit like butlins in Spain, but the apartments were roomy, clean, very large balconys, decent bathrooms, the little kitchenettes wern't bad either, but I don't cook on hoilday, fine for simple breakfasts, snacks, storing drinks ect
My sister couldn't get her daughter in the little kids club, they were running a very limited service due to staff absence, don't fancy anyones chances in peak season. There was a nice little play ground for young ones.
THE POOL IS FANTASTIC, best I've ever seen abroad, it was cold but I think that was down to the time of year. Read lots of people had problems getting a sunbed, we didn't but was October, if pool has been warmer, it would have been sheer heaven. Didn't really bother with the hotel entertainment all bingo, junior discos & people making fools of themselves. We prefer to get dressed up & go out for a late leisurely dinner, but thats a personal preference, we never bother much with hotel entertainment.
Fine for families with young children, who don't want somewhere very hot or foreign. Even better if you like the joining-in hotel type of entertainment.
Not good if you want somewhere romantic, hot or foreign.

"I thoroughly enjoyed my holiday in Magaluf the weather was great and so was the attractions...."

I thoroughly enjoyed my holiday in Magaluf the weather was great and so was the attractions. My accommodation was excellant it had eveything we required and the pool and night life was great. The hotel was situated in the centre of the bars, clubs and restaurants. The prices were good and there was trips for all members of the family e.g shoping trips to the markets for mum and the aqua park and pirates for dad and the kids. I would definately recommend this holiday to any one and also the Fiesta Tropico apartments. I will definately be back in the very near future.

"Magaluff is an excellent place to go on your holiday for all ages, with varied place to eat ..."

Magaluff is an excellent place to go on your holiday for all ages, with varied place to eat and drink, with one of the best places being Tom Browns with the most friendliest staff and the cheapest prices. Also BCM is the cheapest night out, when we went it cost £7.50 for a whole evening of dance music, stage entertainment, (look out for Paul one of the dancers he was a babe) and also a free bar. Beware of what are called P.R'S who drag you from the street for a free shot of cheap alcohol and a buy one get one free watered down local alcoholic drink when you are aproached by these people RUN. Also the allegal watch sellers who sell counterfeit goods,(we seen one of them arrested).

The Fieta Tropico is a very dissapointing 'hotel' to say the least:

1. On arrival I had an injured leg and could not walk far. There were 2 members of staff on duty, with THREE offfice chairs on wheels. I asked to borrow one for 5 mins to help me get to the room. They said NO. They were using ALL of the chairs all of the time and I could NOT borrow one for 5 mins. They were 'staff' chairs, not guest chairs. The man said that 'This is a Hotel not a hospital, we provide you with a room what more do you want'. I got Thomson to phone the hotel, this man spoke to Thomson and slammed the phone down on her. The Thomson Lady phoned back and a different person answered. I was then told that there WAS a THOMSON chair behind the reps desk and I could borrow that one! lol - have you ever heard of anything so ridiculous!!

2. The standard of cleaning was very poor. Towels were only changed every 3-4 days, wheather they were dirty or not, and you had to pay 2 Euros for an extra towel or pillow - disgusting!

3. A room clean comprised of a quick sweep of the floor - with worktops left dirty and ashtrays not emptied

4. The rooms had telephones but you could not make a phone call from them. To use a phone you had to show reception your PASSPORT (honestly!)and then be 'allowed' to use one of the phones in the VERY noisy reception with screaming kids and loud music. You were then charged the fee - how UTTERLY pathetic!

5. It took us THREE days to get them to repair a leaking toilet that would not flush. They had to be told THREE times.

6. The hotel will process your holiday photos, there is a price list on display, but they then charge you MORE than the price on the list!

FIESTA 'Hotels' are more like expensive Youth Hostels with rude and unhelpful staff who wouldn't give you the drippings off your nose!

"Went early in the season and after being rather dubious about Magaluf was pleasantly surpris..."

Went early in the season and after being rather dubious about Magaluf was pleasantly surprised by the fact that it was virtually ALL families. The apartments were clean and well equiped (after Greece anyway!) and the staff, both Fiesta and Thomson were all helpful (and English speaking). Never had any problem with noise and the teenagers who were hanging around were never difficult or rude, just spending time. We once had to ask them to turn their music down and they did so immediately, apologising that it had been so loud! Nice change! Our daughter was too young for the Kids Clubs but the soft play area was great and a good pool for her to splash in. Tom Brown's on the beach had excellent food and very helpful staff. Robinson Crusoe's further along the prom towards Torrenevo on the beach were also excellent (wonderful brunch!) and The Blue Bar overlooking Palma Nova bay on the Torrenevo headland were very good.
