"We stayed in the Marte Hotel and it was great for what we needed. The rooms are not spacious..."

We stayed in the Marte Hotel and it was great for what we needed. The rooms are not spacious but as we spent little time in them - it was not a problem at all.

The rooms were cleaned daily and if you wanted fresh towels and bed linen - you just had to leave the towels in the bath and a pre printed ticket on your bed for the linen.

The food halls were busy but very clean and we never had to wait long.

The food itself was brilliant - amazing selections for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

The themed food nights were great as we all had a chance to try different foods.

Could not fault the food in anyway.

The pools were very clean and the walkways around the pools and complex were jet-washed daily.

The entertainment staff were brilliant - energetic and full of fun from 10am-midnight!

All in all, our party of 8 with ages ranging from 50 down to 5 all had a fabulous holiday and I personally, can't wait to go back next year!

I think it's a shame for people that have fallen ill but really think they are unlucky as I felt the whole complex was very hygeine concious.

We also never experienced any trouble linked to the all-inclusive on tap alcohol - all the people/families we met were very friendly and just having a good time on their holidays - after-all, we all save hard for our holidays so why shouldn't people be able to enjoy themselves!!

Nothing bad to say about the Club Mac Complex at all - a great first 'all-inclusive' experience! TRY IT!!

This was our third visit to this complex and we can't fault it for anything. The food is excellent for this type of hotel and has actually improved with each visit.

Most impressive of all are the facilities for children which are first rate. Our children love it here and of all the places we have taken them this is the one they ask to go back to which speaks volumes.

Rooms are not huge but they are clean and well maintained. The evening entertainment is excellent and the staff are helpful and friendly.

"Thought i'd best post a note after reading all the bad reviews, i've been to jupit..."

Thought i'd best post a note after reading all the bad reviews, i've been to jupiter hotel twice and like some of the reviews the first time i went i felt the huge complex a little daunting however i was on my own with 3 children, the kids loved it, there was lots for them to do and they loved the food what was on offer. And i would also like to add none of us was ill on both time of my visits.

The second time round was a fantastic holiday, i must admit it was alot cleaner around the pools as they stopped people from taking there food out, because like the reveiws said there was alot of ignorant people who didnt feel the need to clean up after themselves.

And yes it was a very noisy lively complex but expectable. Entertainment team were great.

I can understand that this hotel is not everyones cup of tea but an holiday is what you make it and we made the most of it!

Stayed at this 3rd rate, sorry 3 star, accommodation. Room was on 10th floor. It was dirty and any attempt to use the shower or toilet resulted in a strong smell of sewage.

Paid for full board but the slow small lifts ensured that breakfast was usually missed as it would be lunchtime before you got to the ground floor. Then you could savour the choice of aroma, sewage or vomit!

All of us had sickness and diarrhoea and doctor demanded 50 euros, per person, before he would even speak to us. Staff were seen eating the food as they were preparing it and then rattled jars under our noses for tips.

If you have no sense of smell and want to lose weight fast then this is the place to stay.

I have booked my next holiday at the local council tip. It will probably smell sweeter and the food will be better. Stay here at your own risk.

If you watch Shameless and can see your family in the programme then you will love this holiday it was full of loud mouth English getting drunk and not giving a damn what their kids were doing.

The language was really bad from both parents and kids and nobody had any consideration for others in the hotel. Food was OK but the lunch choice was burger burger chips and burgers - to sum it up welcome to scretsville!!!!

Best thing about the holiday was going to Alcudia beach - great for kids but just don't stay at this complex!!!

This was the holiday from hell. Im not a snob I was raised on a council estate in a pit village, this complex was chav city. I have stayed in better doss houses in Blackpool! Kids and Youth's running amok, swearing, fighting till the early hours.

I did not feel safe leaving my wife and kids on their own! All 4 of us had severe sickness and were bitten all over by some creatures. Room was dirty and tatty.

Bathroom stank. Lifts were always broken. Staff unhelpful. Lasted 10 days before we were transferred away from this disgusting crap hole!

AVOID AT ALL COSTS unless you are a chav!

"This was our fourth time all inclusive in Alcudia Majorca however the first time in this hot..."

This was our fourth time all inclusive in Alcudia Majorca however the first time in this hotel, we stayed at the Marte which apparently is the quieter of the three-not so after spending time in all three (you can use all of the sister hotels amenities) i would say they are all very lively and all about the same. These hotels are definately not for the quiet get away from it all type of holiday makers, they are loud, lively, crowded and busy. We knew from the brochure that this was a big complex but were still shocked by the hugeness of it, and the volume hits you as soon as you get off that coach and walk through the garden to reception. However the hotels are clean and comfy and the food was excellent-something for everyone, the entertainment was good especially for the children (of which there were lots and lots, hope you like kids) ours enjoyed taking part in the comps etc and made some new friends the night entertainment was ok too, the gardens were nice and everthing was clean the staff were also nice and polite especially miguel. The worst thing about these hotels were the guests the ones who let their kids run riot and the ones who thought they didnt have to clean up after themselves, oh and the ones who thought they could take all the sunbeds every morning shove a towel on them and reserve them all day without using them half the time. Overall although it was very very loud and lively and not what we are used to we kinda got used to it and still had a good holiday, it hasnt put us off Alcudia and we still love it although we would rather have a smaller hotel, if your thinking of going here you have to be prepared WILD !!!!!!

We stayed at the Marte but ate in the Jupiter most days as it had a lot more space. We found the food great in all the hotels and the staff were very helpful and polite, went with my sister and her kids and they had a great time but for my boyfriend and i it was a little dull at times as we have no children. found a few familys that had the manners of pigs and didnt like looking after there children but most family just wanted to have a nice time.
All in all it was a good holiday. Great if you have kids dont bother if you dont.

If you can transfer to another hotel before you leave DO IT NOW!
The brochure bears little resemblance to the horrible reality of the place. We have gone All Inclusive before and been delighted with the value for money and facilities available. This time All Inclusive would have incorporated a hefty dose of food poisoning, and likely admittance to a mental health facility upon our return.

If you wish to holiday in a place akin to Exeter Services during the first week of the summer holidays then this is the place for you. The wall of noise that hits you as you check in is unbearable as rowdy children and their parents fight to be the loudest. The room that we were allocated - well more of a cell really - was still dirty from the last occupants, although quite what they had been doing in there to get the sheets that filthy was beyond us. The poor unsuspecting women given the dubious honour of cleaning that up needed more than her (dirty) mop and bucket to achieve the impossible. The bar area was no better as children and adults seemed to chuck anything they didn't want on the dirty beer stained floor.

We gave it a shot for a night to try out the food and not jump to any hasty conclusions about the type of guest that we had come across so far. Our first impressions weren't wrong. If you enjoy spending time with tattooed chavs and football hooligans then you'll love this 'resort'. My wife, a light sleeper, could have told you the names and all about the relationships of all our neighbours in the hotel after the hours of screaming at each other and running up and down the corridors that took place on the first night of our 'holiday'.

Our Welcome meeting couldn't come soon enough and after the avoiding the dubious breakfast offerings we decided that enough was enough. The First Choice reps were really helpful in moving us quickly and without any extra cost to the infinitely more appropriate Sea Club but didn't seem surprised that my family was less than impressed with the start to our holiday.

If you are going to tough it out here then be prepared to take your walking shoes (it's quite a hike to the beach or any decent places to eat), take losts of extra money and some good quality ear plugs for the evenings - well all the time really.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing. Just because it seems pleasant enough in the brochure, is All Inclusive and has a kids club, don't be taken in. Only two of the three hotels were open during our thankfully brief stay but it can only get worse as the season goes on.

Transfer to other accommodation, book a different holiday or simply stay at home but for your own sanity AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

I too was a little worried due to 'HEARSAY' before I went but I would also agree with the positive feedback made.
Food was absolutely stunning, we tried all 3 hotels just to make sure !
Rooms were very cramped with 2 double beds and nothing else for 2 adults and 1 child to sleep though I would have to say- zero privacy... Cleaners immaculate, every day cleaning. Some dirty people round the pool were too lazy to use the several bins provided and just threw left over food on the floor but cleaners came round promptly to clear up their mess.
Pool was closed for 3 days due to vomitting and number 2 incidents and had to be sterilised which was a pain but their cleanliness was 2nd to none. Stacks of sunbeds to go round- no problems looking for beds 7am in the morning!
Water park right opposite well worth a visit.
Entertainment ok -- reps working very very hard to entertain people and were really very good - better than some artists they got in from outside.Club dances got everyone involved not only the kids.
Not much by the hotel apart from Spar but being All Inclusive what more do you need ? I would thoroughly reccomend this hotel, but my friend stayed in the sister hotel The Jupiter but didnt rate it as good as ours to stay there.
On a final note- bingo prizes £200 a line and over £600 a house - EXCELLENT. (Porth).

This was the first time we took our children abroad so wanted it to be special and that is certainly what it was. This is the ideal place to go to with children...they were never bored. Room was quite cramped with five of us but we didnt care we only used it to sleep in..bathroom fine with bath and shower, sheets and towels changed daily. Food 10/10 excellent...so much choice although im sure the alcoholic drinks were watered down. Good entertainment programme from clowns and dancing to bingo, singers and chinese acrobats. Excellent market on a sunday for those of you who like a good haggle, although quite a long walk to get to would advise getting a bus. Hotel situated right next door to an aqua park which was really good if you wanted a change. Free bus service to beach every half an hour..well worth a visit....all in all we had a great time and will definatly be returning in the future. (leicester)

The children had a great time and the Childrens Club/Reps were very good, but the hotel, it's staff and quite a lot of the brits there were a nightmare. Parents take advantage of the free drink and sit getting drunk all day whilst the kids run riot. At night the teenagers roam around in gangs drinking and throwing the furniture in the lake. Children running in the corridors at all hours partying and banging doors. Staff on bars very rude, but it's no wonder with what they have to put up with. On the plus side, the resort is lovely and the beach is fantastic. (COVENTRY)

After reading loads of negative reviews on this complex and nearly cacelling ,I was so glad we didn't as the hotels have so much to do and offer children and adults from the fantastic swimmings pools with ample free sunbeds around to the amazing childrens village consisting of sand area paddling pool and climbing frames. Also in the village is the Kiosko bar serving beer and soft drinks ice creams and lollies. The hotel entertainment team do their kids club activities here from making bracelets ,colouring competitions to games including twister and water bingo! There is a number of quiet areas around the lakes for you to sit and read a book or have a game of crazy golf, tennis badmington or football.
The food was excellent well presented and a variety of different foods to suit all tastes(well nearly all, you still have the odd moaners )the staff work extremely hard to maintain a high evcellence of hygene.
The bars are in no short supply serving San Miguel on draught wines cocktails and spirits from 10.00am-12.00pm
I am already looking to book for us to go next year and the kids are on a count down of how many days to go!
The entertainment is split between two age groups .The stage between the Saturno and Marte is for younger children with a mini disco show 8.00pm followed by games and then kareoke or talent shows, while the stage between the Marte and Jupiter is for the older ,still a disco first then bingo and finally a show .Also at 9.00pm every evening there is a film for the kids to watch normally a Disney film.
I hope this report has been of great help to you not to be frightened before going to the jupiter'saturno'Marte. We travelled with Cosmos and was in the Saturno a very nice hotel ,be prepared for the wait with the lifts as it is not the lifts fault, but that of the rude and selfish people that walk up1 or2 floors and intercept the lifts on the way back down. We were on the 6th floor but didn't wait more than 5 mins. (Lincolnshire)

We have just returned from the hotel Jupiter and must say that we were surprised by how good it was after reading all the reports on this site before we went .We are glad we did not cancel now .
The Hotel or rather Hotels are very busy but we had no problems with getting drinks sunbeds or chairs for evening entertainment .The food was excellent in all three hotels late breakfast was particularly useful up to 11:30 am .
The staff were pleasant and worked very hard even though they had to put up with rude english people with no manners .
The complex is enormous so if you want to avoid the crowds you can walk to the lake with its pleasant gardens and childrens village .
Overall we had a good time and would return in a couple of years . (kent)

The Hotel Marte was a Holiday from Hell for my family. This was our first and will be our last time in Spain. In the Airtours brochure it does not tell you this Hotel is in a complex with the Saturno and Jupiter Hotels. The food was raw and disgusting, not fit for human consumption. My son and I had food poisoning. The pools were filthy, contained cigarette ends and litter. The bar was always crowded, the bar staff very rude and they served the cheapest drinks (soft drinks, ie pepsi, 7up) I have ever had to taste in my life. We had a room above the entertainment so we didn't have to bother getting a seat at 6.00pm as we could hear everything from our room. We also had the pleasure of listening to the Hotel staff tidying up after it until 3 am the following morning. Nice! Airtours advertise this as a Hotel for Couples at the beginning of the season. Not True, it's full of children at the beginning of the season, with their drunken parents, who let these brats do whatever they want. They can play chases outside your room at midnight, in the restaurant they can put food on their plate then empty it back into serving dishes, they can lick their fingers and stick them in the food. The best thing about this Hotel was the Airtours Reps.(Not). If you have the pleasure of meeting Miss Sam Black, be prepared! She is very rude arrogant and sincerly unhelpful. If you like being tortured then this is the Holiday for you.

We have just come back from a lovely week at the Jupiter Hotel. Having read the reports posted on this site we were very worried about what we would find. A lot of what is said is true but it is not as bad as the impression some of these reports give. The reason for many of these complaints is due to the fact that the hotels are inhabited by glutinous, badly behaved and sometimes very rude & drunk BRITS. No wonder the staff are so unfriendly seeing the way the guests behave. We saw children being allowed to run riot taking food and drink just for the sake of taking it not eating or drinking it and just chucking it on the ground - no wonder there were rats (we never saw any) and staff were continually coming round the sun loungers picking up rubbish and uneaten food. Even in the restaurant the tables were left in a terrible state surrounded by food and debris. The bar areas looked like a bomb site by midnight littered with drinks, popcorn and any other rubbish that guests were incapable of putting in the bin but by early morning (yes, you do have to get up early if you want a bed in the sun!) everything was spotless. OK so the food was very much the same every day but there was plenty of selection including salads and plenty of fruit on offer. Our children loved it and ate very well and we had no illnesses. The rooms are cleaned every day, beds made and clean towels left. The cleaning wasn't the best I've seen but it was sufficient. The Cosmos reps were on site every day if you needed to go and see them - they didn't make too much effort to find you and you have to remember to go and ask them about your return details as they don't offer the information. We were met by a rep at the airport and he travelled on the bus to the hotel and back to the airport. The 'information' meeting is really a sales drive for the various trips on offer - it would be more useful if you were given more information about the site. There is a free bus to the beach every half an hour and the beach is clean and with a long shallow ledge so the children can play quite happily without worrying about them going out of their depth. Toilet facilities are nil. Evening entertainment was usual for holiday resorts - bearable. There are lots of stalls that are put out around the main bar areas at night which is quite nice to wander round. Our son and his wife and children intend to go again next year.

Well what can i say .This was the worst holiday any of us had ever been on-bearing in mind my first with my 18 mnth old daughter who was violently ill with vomiting for the first week then eventually one by one we dropped down like flies and whole 12 of us were sick-i think we had 2 nights in the whole 11 that we were well enough to spend together. The lifts were horrific they would just go right past your floor and leave you waiting for almost 20 minutes with a pushchair and on the 9th floor! Checking in was horrific no air conditioning in the lobby and a wait of 90 minutes just to check in and get your wrist band-one of our party went to get cool drinks whilst we were checking in to be told he could only have 4 at a time and they were half empty! Rooms were so small you couldnt swing a cat i was undressing on the balcony! The air conditioning was non existent so getting my daughters temperature down was a nightmare-asked to borrow a fan~there was non. Couldnt get a chair to see the entertainment unless you starved and reserved your seat at 5.00pm! Same again getting sunbeds non available even at 7.30am-place was so over crowded they were offering people to move to villas nearer to palmer! Dirty nappies-filthy pool which was far too over crowded which never got cleaned. Staff were rude, unpleasant and the hotel was so desperatley understaffed you queued for everything. All decent onsite facilities werent free we had to pay for bingo tickets-pens to play-pedalos-bouncy castle-mini cars-everything. Alcudia itself to me was very disappointing the shopping was poor and the choices of pubs and bars were really limited. Im sorry but im only 25 my husband 33 and dont find ourselves miserable, hard to please or moaners but have to say this was by far the worst holiday ever in our lives my 9 year old niece even cried to come home-dreadful-do not waste your money-i tried to get an early flight home (after 4 days) due to illness throughout my party let alone the entire hotel-we stuck it out as we were on honeymoon. "THIS CAN ONLY BE DESCRIBED AS MY WORST NIGHTMARE!AFTER SAVING FOR OVER A YEAR FOR OUR FAMILY..."

THIS CAN ONLY BE DESCRIBED AS MY WORST NIGHTMARE!AFTER SAVING FOR OVER A YEAR FOR OUR FAMILY HOLIDAY I FEEL LIKE CRYING. WHERE DO I START. ON ARRIVAL THINGS DIDNT SEEM TOO BAD UNTIL WE GOT TO OUR ROOM. IT ABSOLUTELY STUNK LIKE A SEWER.WENT TO COMPLAIN AT RECEPTION ONLY TO BE TOLD TO COME BACK THE NEXT MORNING. SO WE DID AND THEY WERE VERY HELPFUL ABOUT THE SMELL (NOT). THEIR SOLUTION WAS TO SPRAY AIR FRESHNER IN OUR FACES! SO PROBLEM WAS SOLVED FOR ALL OF 10 MINS UNTIL THE SMELL CAME BACK AND STAYED THROUGHOUT OUR HOLIDAY. ON THE SECOND DAY MY DAUGHTER GOT LOCKED IN THE BATHROOM BECAUSE THE HANDLE WHICH WAS LOOSE CAME OFF IN HER HAND.WE COULDNT OPEN IT FROM THE OUTSIDE SO I WENT TO RECEPTION FOR HELP. THREE HOURS LATER, AFTER LISTENEING TO MY HYSTERICAL DAUGHTER SCREAMING FOR 3 HOURS, THEY FINALLY SENT AN ELECTRICIAN TO THE ROOM WHO KNEW NOTHING ABOUT DOOR HANDLES AND DIDNT EVEN UNDERSTAND ENGLISH. FINALLY AFTER FIVE HOURS WE MANAGED TO GET HER OUT.
THE POOLS WERE FILTHY AND A RAT WAS SEEN ON ONE NIGHT BY THE POOL.IT WAS HARDLY SUPRISING WHEN MY DAUGHTER CAUGHT IMPETIGO HALF WAY THROUGH THE HOLIDAY AND HAD TO WEAR TROUSERS TO COVER IT UP IN TEMPERATURES OF 32C.
ON THE ONE DAY I DID MANAGE TO GET A SUN BED I WAS GREETED BY A DIRTY NAPPY ON THE FLOOR NEXT TO MY FEET THAT STUNK. MY TOWELS WERE STOLEN AND THROWN INTO THE POOL. IT WAS ABSOLUTE CHAOS IN THE POOL WITH LOADS OF KIDS ON OVERSIZED LILOS DIVING IN AND LANDING ON TOP OF THE LITTLE BABIES. HOW AN ACCIDENT NEVER OCCURED I DONT KNOW. THE LIFEGUARD WAS A WASTE OF SPACE-MORE INTERESTED IN OGLING THE TOPLESS WOMEN THAN WATCHING THE KIDS.
BY DAY 5 WE ALL HAD SICKNESS AND THE RUNS SO WENT TO BED EARLY- ONLY TO BE WOKEN UP AT MIDNIGHT BY THE TELEPHONE IN OUR ROOM RINGING. IT WAS THE RECEPTIONIST WHO EXPLAINED HE HAD DIALLED THE WRONG ROOM, AND THEN IT HAPPENED AGAIN AND AGAIN AND AGAIN UNTIL AFTER ABOUT 30 CALLS AT 3 OCLOCK IN THE MORNING I WENT DOWN TO RECEPTION TO COMPLAIN. THE RECEPTIONIST TOLD ME IT WAS A MAN FROM THE OTHER HOTEL NEXT DOOR SO I PHONED HIM TO TELL HIM TO STOP OR ID BE PUTTING IN A COMPLAINT THE NEXT DAY. HE TOLD ME IF I COMPLAINED ABOUT HIM HE WOULD KILL ME AND THAT HE WAS COMING OVER NOW TO DO IT. I WAS REALLY SCARED AND RAN UP THE 7 FLIGHTS OF STAIRS TO MY ROOM WHERE WE STAYED WITH THE DOOR LOCKED FOR 12 HOURS.THE ONLY NICE THING ABOUT OUR HOLIDAY WAS THE LOVELY MARKET WE VISITED AND THE LOVELY DAY AT THE BEACH. BEWARE THOUGH ABOUT TOUCHING THINGS AT THE MARKET. I ONLY PICKED UP A BAG TO HAVE A QUICK LOOK AND WAS CHASED ROUND THE MARKET BY THE SELLER WHO WOULDNT LET ME GO UNTIL I BOUGHT IT. COULDNT WAIT TO GET BACK ON THE PLANE EVEN WITH OUR ILLNESS STILL THERE. THE BABY STILL HAD THE RUNS ALL THE WAY HOME WHICH PROVED QUITE EMBARRASSING ON THE PLANE. THE AIR HOSTESS CAME AND GAVE US SOME AIR FRESHNER TO SPRAY ROUND AS WE HAD CREATED SUCH A SMELL- HOW EMBARRASING. WAS SUCH A RELIEF TO GET HOME I HAVE VOWED I WILL NEVER EVER GO ABROAD AGAIN.

"The Hotel Marte, Jupitor & Saturno club complex is dreadful!

The Hotel Marte, Jupitor & Saturno club complex is dreadful!

If you wish to be jossled by 'thousands' of shaven headed tattoed football hooligans!

Then this is just the place for you!

If you adore extreme noise from 'thousands' of children all day long!

Then this is just the place for you!

If you wish to spend your time sitting in what is exactly like a very crouded, noisy uncomfortable airport waiting lounge!

Then this is just the place for you!

If you wish to be involved in drunken lager lout fighting & enjoy dodging the flying furniture whilst protecting your children!

Then this is just the place for you!

If you wish to eat food you either cannot chew or is cold so you need to microwave it! (The hotels' food practice would not be legal in the UK!)

Then this is just the place for you!

If you have money to burn & like going to accommodation that is terrible value for money!

Then this is just the place for you!

If you wish to share the facilities with two other huge hotels - yes this a VERY large joint hotel complex with hardly a 30 second walk between each one!

Then this is just the place for you!

The complex is NOT particularly clean & the bedrooms smell of the insecticide used to subdue the insects in the bedrooms & bathrooms!

Don't believe any reviews that infer that the Marte comlpex is good - they must have been planted by the tour companies.

The reps CANNOT help you - after two days of hell we had to book and pay independently for an EasyJet flight to get home!

We were robbed of a holiday not to mention the £2,000 it cost!

DO NOT BOOK YOUR HOLIDAY TO THIS HOTEL COMPLEX - YOU WILL REGRET IT!!

"What can I say about the Saturno.............??? An absolute DUMP. Do not book this Hotel or..."

What can I say about the Saturno.............??? An absolute DUMP. Do not book this Hotel or the Marte or Jupiter...

The Saturno Hotel in Alcudia, Majorca is the worst Hotel we have ever stayed in and would not recommend to anybody and certainly will not travel with Cosmos again.

There was no Cosmos Rep on the way to the Hotel from Palma Airport and no site of anybody on the way back - COSMOS are a JOKE and should not be operating at all if this is how they treat their 'customers'. If you were not vigilant, you could have easily messed up and ended up in the wrong place.

We got dropped off at the bottom of the Saturno Hotel in pouring rain/thunder and lightning at 11:30 at night - nobody to tell us where reception was, nobody to help with the luggage/push chair etc.

We booked a year in advance with Cosmos but got put on the 8th floor with a 2 year old child in dangerous bunk beds. The room was smally, filthy, TV not working, shower not working, air conditioning non-existent, cigarette burns in linen which also had unimaginiable stains on it. Mould in bathroom, scribbling/scrawlings all over the walls which also had strange stains on it broken floor tiles - the list was endless.

The Saturno is by FAR the worst of the 3 Hotels in the 'complex', Jupiter and Marte being the others. The Hotel is dark, dingy and dirty - there is unsuitable access to the 3 cramped lifts - several stairs to get to the level of the lifts, NOT ideal for pushchairs! The lifts are cramped and can barely fit more than 5 people in and they take an age to arrive at the desired floor because usually, the pleasant children left to run riot by their parents, run up and down stairs all day pressing the lift. The Carpets leading to the rooms are disgusting and covered in stains.

I know that the rooms in the Jupiter are far better than the Saturno as family members of ours stayed in this Hotel and we saw the rooms, much cleaner, brighter - I would say 10 times better than the Saturno. There is much better access to the lifts as they are on a level with the complex!

We demanded to move room the next day and spoke to a Cosmos Rep who was insistent that there was nowhere to move to. However we would have flown back to England right there and then because the room was so disgusting, if we had paid £10 a night in England, we would still have wanted a refund! The Rep did manage to get us moved to the 2nd Floor in the Saturno (which was incidentally a room which another couple moved out of, because they weren't happy with it and eventually decided to go Self Catering instead of stay in the rancid Saturno). The room did have two queen sized beds pushed together which was more suitable for our 2 year old but the room was still unacceptable for the £1400+ we had paid for the priveledge. The room as basic to say the least. We also had to pay (15 Euros I think) to move rooms which we were not terribly happy about. Also worth mentioning the tax you need to pay on arrival (I think it was 12 Euros). Obviously we were a bit miffed when we thought we would pay extra for all inclusive and then discover there are more costs when you get there, things within the complex Pedalos, Bouncy Castle and Trampolines cost money and were not up to scratch either! See later on!

We were unlucky with the weather (it rained all but one of the 7 days we were there) which didn't help our only holiday of the year. The floors were lethal when wet - a warning if going out of season like we did.

The food in each of the hotels (you can eat in any of the 3 Hotels) was well below standard. The cooked breakfasts were the worst I have ever experienced. The scrambled eggs looked like 'puss', the baked beans were the cheapest, nastiest (worse than netto 9p a can!), some of the sausages were like very cheap canned hotdog sausages but even these tasted 10 times nicer than the sausages which actually looked like sausages - I am convinced it was horse-meat! Horrible! There was a 'chef' in the centre of the restaurant who I thought was cooking fresh food but discovered all he was doing was cracking eggs and under-cooking them! There was Cereal but the milk was UHT, the fruit juice was not fruit juice but a water and powder mix which was vile but the only thing suitable for kids! Coffee was horrible too! There is quite a choice at meal times and we thought the meal at night was probably the best of the day, even this though was usually bland, the meat was tough and after 2-3 days and after everybody having stomach upsets, we spent all our spending money on eating out. NOT what we expected with All-Inclusive.

There was a 'burger-bar' room which was the only place to get snacks (not like the brochure said!), chips, pink burgers and hot dog sausages with some salad. The room was a big greasy dive. Food poisoning heaven. There were also broken mains sockets with bare wires showing. Our 2 year old son slipped on the greasy floor. The place a health and safety nightmare.

The drinks were very poor at the bar also, the 'San Miguel' must have been watered down so much it tasted like Scandia Green. Limited to carrying 4 drinks and beers only available in half pint plastic cups. I found many of the staff miserable (although a few were welcoming) - a place like this though isn't the most rewarding job in the world. There were tips jars, but there was very little put in them - when you get greeted by a miserable face, it doesn't pursuade you into helping their wages a little.

The Holiday Brochure said that there was entertainment for all ages - absolute nonsense. There was a very poor effort at somebody trying to entertain in the Jupiter Hotel, but the area was too crowded, filled with smoke, kids running riot, not what I would consider entertainment. There was a disco in the Saturno one night on the first floor which again was packed and full of unruly young teenagers who later deposited sick in two of the 3 lifts which was not cleaned up for more than 12 hours by the miserable Hotel staff. The noise coming from the Hotel goes on until the early hours every morning so if you're a light sleeper like me, you're in for HELL! Kids are screaming and running up and down corridors. Quite where parents were and what they were doing is a mystery, although I suspect they were necking Gin in the shabby bar talking with a buck-toothed grin to their mums who are also there sisters and there aunties all rolled into one. Inbreeding was RIFE

One night, our eight year old son went to the toilets on the First Floor in the Saturno and when he did not come back after several minutes, I went to check on him - he was stuck in the trap because the door lock and handle was faulty, he was screaming for help and crying his eyes out - I didn't hesitate and kicked the door in. Yet another example of poor maintenance.

The Hotel and grounds were poorly maintained and unsuitable for young families. There was a park near the boating lake which was of some relief, however the Bouncy Castle and Trampolines were optional extras and cost 2 Euros for 'x' amount of minutes (we usually found when the lazy Spanish man who was meant to be in charge of these woke up from his Siesta it was time to get off!). The Bouncy Castle was in very poor condition, there were several gaping holes in the castle which was extremely dangerous. The area around both of these apparatus had small pieces of broken glass which again was disgraceful as the children had to take off their shoes to go on the castle.

There is a Train Ride around the boating lake which bizarrely only runs 3 times at 10:00 and then 3 times at 13:00 which seems strange when the kids would love to go on this time and time again. Typically, the train broke down whilst we were waiting to go on it for our kids, the trailor detached itself from the 'engine' (of course the Train is really a car on wheels) with a big jolt and luckily nobody was hurt, parents came running down from the far end of the grounds as they had let their children on execting them to be safe, needless to say we did not attempt to go on this again.

There was a crazy golf course which was quite good fun, but again this was poorly maintained (this was a 10 Euro deposit). There are pedalos which are free up until a certain time but then for some strange reason costs 10 Euros - we didn't go on these.

The Beach is almost a mile away and the bus does run every hour to help save legs although once again (like the lifts in the Hotel), perfectly able bodied people flood onto the bus whilst people with obvious difficulty and people with young children struggle to get on. It speaks volumes for certain types of people who cannot see further than themselves.

Because the weather was not great, the pools were not too busy as the water was cold but there was one day that the children enjoyed playing. The pools did look quite tempting had the weather been better.

The Beach is nice although typically the one day that it was quite hot, the sea weed was washed up on the beach which was a shame because the sand and water was nice.

There is a play area for children about half a mile down the road from the Hotel near the Island where Burger King resides called 'Mon Magic', which was quite good for the kids to play for half an hour. There is a Go-Kart track nearby which also looked good but was quite pricey at about 25 Euros for 10 minutes for two of us. There is also a water park which looked good which is only 5-10 minutes walk from the Hotel - we didn't get to try as it was mainly closed due to bad weather.

We did go on a trip to see the Son Amar show in Palma (I think) which was excellent, pricey but very good entertainment. We missed the chance to go to the Water World Sea Park which did look excellent.

Overall, the Hotel was very very poor standard and should not have been given a 3 star plus rating. I would strongly recommend NOT going to this Hotel or even Complex. If you have booked already, take plenty of spending money to eat out - the food on the Aeroplane was far better than anything in the hotel. We were not the only people who felt that this had been poor value for money. Several people who had booked a two-week stint felt like it was a prison sentence and others like I said earlier, chose to move into Self Catering accomodation somewhere else in Alcudia, even though they had paid for All Inclusive. If this does not sound the alarm bells, nothing will! I would not have been suprised if the demolition squad had moved in the day after we left and knocked the place down. Imagine Butlins, then imagine Butlins and paying nearly £1500 for it. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm........................

TO START WITH THE ROOM, WE HAD TWO DOUBLE BEDS, ONE FOR ME AND MY HUSBAND AND ONE FOR OUR TWO CHILDREN, ONE DAUGHTER AGED NINE AND AND OUR SON AGED TWELVE. THE ROOM HAD ONE WARDROBE WHICH BROKE EVERY TIME WE CLOSED THE DOOR SO WE COULDN'T HANG ANY CLOTHES UP TO KEEP THE CREASES OUT OF THEM. WE HAD TO STORE THE SUIT CASES UNDER THE BEDS BECAUSE THERE WASN'T ENOUGH ROOM TO STORE THEM ON THE FLOOR. WE HAD SATELITTE TV WITH ONE ENGLISH NEWS CHANNEL AND OK IF YOU LIKE GERMAN PORN CHANNELS AFTER MIDNIGHT. THE BATHROOM WAS NEVER CLEANED AND THE PLUG IN THE BATHROOM WE USED TO DRY OUR HAIR CAME OUT OF THE WALL WHEN WE TOOK THE PLUG OUT, SO THE CHILDREN COULDN'T USE IT. THE FOOD WAS ALL THE SAME, FISH, CHICKEN AND PORK. VEGETARIANS WOULD BE OK BECAUSE THERE WAS QUITE A WIDE CHOICE FOR THEM. THE DRINKS WERE SERVED UP IN LITTLE PLASTIC CUPS, BUT YOU COULD ONLY HAVE FOUR AT A TIME AND THE CUPS WERE ONLY HALF FULL AND IN THE MAIN BAR WE COULD NOT HAVE GLASSES AFTER 10 O'CLOCK THAT IS IF THERE WERE ANY GLASSES AT ALL. THE WELCOME MEETING WAS A WASTE OF TIME, ALL WE WERE TOLD ABOUT WAS ALL THE'FANTASTIC EXCURTIONS' WERE AVAILABLE TO TAKE ON THE ISLAND. WE WERE NOT TOLD ANYTHING ABOUT THE HOTEL AND ITS FACILTIES. ONE REP DIDN'T SEEM TO STOP TO BREATH. WE WERE NEVER TOLD WHERE WE COULD FIND THE REPS OR WHAT TIME THEY WOULD BE IN THE HOTEL IF THERE WERE ANY PROBLEMS. WE WERE OFTEN WOKEN UP AT 5 O'CLOCK IN THE MORNING BECAUSE PEOPLE WERE GOING DOWN TO RESERVE THIER SUN BEDS. IF YOU DIDN'T GET DOWN BY THE POOLS BY 7 O'CLOCK YOU WOULDN'T BE ABLE TO SIT BY THE POOL. THE RUBBISH AROUND THE POOL WAS DISGUSTING, THERE WERE PLASTIC CUPS ALL OVER THE PLACE AND NO STAFF TO PICK THEM UP. THE LIFE GUARD WAS MORE INTERESTED IN PLAYING WITH HIS MOBILE PHONE THAN WATCHING FOR ANYBODY IN TROUBLE. WE TOOK LOTS OF WALKS IN THE EVENING BECAUSE THERE WAS NO SEATS TO SIT IN FOR 'THE EVENINGS ENTERTAINMENT'. WE WERE QUITE GLAD TO BE GOING HOME, BUT WE GOT DROPPED OFF AT THE JUPITER BUT WE HAD TO LUG ALL OUR LUGGAGE TO THE SATURNO, BUT AGAIN THERE WAS NO REPS AROUND TO ASK WHY THIS WAS. WE HAVE VISITED ALCUDIA BEFORE AND REALLY ENJOYED IN BUT THIS WAS THE MOST UNPLEASENT HOLIDAY WE HAVE BEEN ON AND WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THE JUPITER/SATURNO HOTELS TO ANY BODY. WE WERE GLAD TO GET ON THE COACH TO THE AIRPORT

"We still have 1 week remaining on this holiday from hell, i advise you if you are coming can..."

We still have 1 week remaining on this holiday from hell, i advise you if you are coming cancel now to avoid this nightmare, otherwise take transfer option as soon as you get here don't bother to un pack altough expect to be totally disrigarded as soon as do so, we have moved to a self catering apartment as this was are only option due to being families of 5, were we are now is fantastic however we can't reveal until we retun due to issues at the jupitor, altough it is costing alot of money, all inclusive gone down the drain pity the hotel doesn´t have proper sewerage system to cater for the 4000 guests,
it absoutley stinks constantley both inside and out of your room.
Did i say room sorry i meant rabbit hutch with 1980's facilities, One Wardrobe and dressing table make sure your cases are small enough to fit under bed otherwise beware of added dangers of the night, not only the rat that is reported to visit the small pool down the blocked off slides, and childrens play area but also the invasion of the cockroaches especially around the saturno hotel followed by the swooping bats,
don't wear rubber soled shoes as you stick to the black sticky dirty nappy infested floor, but i must admit some of the guests didn´t mind where they dropped their litter however the hotel only had staff tidying up after dark.
the restuarnat food is edible but extremley repetitive pork, fish, chicken,
and very hard to sit in family of 5 or more.
At present we have 6 of the 7 children severly vomiting, stomach pains, headache dizziness and having to fend for ourselves in our apartments as we can´t go back to the hotel to eat, drink due to them being so ill and this was part of the arrangement of moving,we all could still use the all inclusive, we have spent a fortune up o now and still very concerned of our childrens health, beware the doctor doesn´t accept the e111 form and it cost 75 euro to see the doctor and then perscription charge on top, beware if still thinking of coming bring 1: calpol
2: ear drops
3: re hydrate powders
4: bite cream
5: insect repellant
6: if possible antibiotic of your doctor
7: imodium
8: if not plenty of money for doctors bills

but preferbly take our advice change holidays, don´t get me wrong i´m no snob and i´m also not rif raf but we are devoted to our families and wanted a family holiday with relaxation and least problem faced as possible up to now its been a disaster, and alot of other guests think so to. The reception just take complaints constantly and there only answer is you move to other hotel, we arrange for you.
at present quite alot OF THE CHILDREN are ill with sickness bug but i´ll explain more when i´ve seeked legal advice back home.
I have to admit Journeys Direct are trying to sort this problem for us back in England and also Jumbo Tours over in Palma and the staff at are new hotel are fantastic even though its them having the extra bedding to clean. we will leave it there and tell you more of are experences next week when back home.

"Just returned from Jupiter Hotel. In 15 years of holidaying with my wife and kids this has b..."

Just returned from Jupiter Hotel. In 15 years of holidaying with my wife and kids this has been the LEAST enjoyable. This was my first visit to Majorca although my wife had been 20 years ago. Unfortunately most of it was how I hoped it would not be, pubs, british bars, british food, quiz nights etc. We had hoped that the area we were staying in would be quiet but on the contrary the hotel complex Jupiter/Saturno/Marte was a madhouse.

Let me start with the good points.
We had a family room which although small had two double beds, was clean and adequate.
The food was of good quality and dinner time was quite varied however breakfast was predominantly ENGLISH although there was a good selection of fruit.
The evening entertainment was generally of a good standard with professional acts most nights. (Our kids watched whilst we went off site)

The bad points.
The complex was very crowded. Sunbeds were gone by 9am despite there being a lot of them.(I woke at 5am one morning and looked out of the window to see about 200 towels already in place)
The pools were far too busy(How there isnt an accident I do not know)
The lake is very smelly and covered in scum.(felt sorry for the ducks)
Apart from a short period in the evening all drinks are served in plastic cups and seem to be lacking alcohol content. Queues for drinks are long and commonplace to all bars. If you want a coffee in a quiet shady spot forget it!. Shade is of a premium and quiet does not exist here and then there is the coffee...vending machine produced in polystyrene cups.(YUK)

Noise - I did not see any rowdy behaviour however the place is just very noisy and as our room overlooked the stage of entertainment it remained noisy til about 2am most nights.People start reserving tables around the stage at 530pm.By 7pm forget a seat anywhere.

Dining - Although the food was generally of good quality all the dining rooms were again crowded. Dirty plates are collected on trollies and sometimes these were left next to our table while we were eating. At peak times (7 - 8) expect to queue although to be fair the head waiter at the Jupiter is excellent and he really gets his staff working to clear tables and get the Qs moving. One tip if you eat in the Jupiter and it is hot try to sit at the far end as the Air conditioning is far better than near the doors.

Lifts - Did not get stuck but you enter with little confidence. HOT!!!

Cleanliness - The day starts and everything clean. Because of the vast numbers and the way people abuse the place litter soon builds up and by the end of the day it is a tip.(mainly plastic drink cups and slops)
Staff - Considering the abuse they get from time to time they seem very tollerent and helpful.

Would we go back? A definate NO although for some this is clearly what they look for in a holiday as many seemed to be having a good time and several were on repeat visits. It depends entirely on what you are looking for but it was not for us.

Visit the Caves of Drach and for a beach and safe bathing go to S'Illott on the East Coast.

Holiday from hell, is not the right words to describe this cattle ranch. The room at the Saturno was dirty, cramped and had not been updated for 30 years, not forgetting the lovley smell of sewage that you have to breath in. The whole complex is scruffy and the childrens pool, near the play area had a film of scum floating on the top. You had to fight for your sun beds, drinks and chairs at night to watch the show. The creche was not clean and you had to fit in around the reps plans for child care. The best part of the holiday was getting rid of my tag and escaping Colditz.

There is a report posted here that described my holiday EXACTLY apart from no mention of my daughter being hit in the eye with a pool cue ball but that's another story. DO NOT go here during peak periods, it is far too busy. Only four drinks at a time from the bar so if you have 5 in party--forget it. Food is ok again if like pork. You have to pay for a lot of the kids activities. The ice cream stall is a 1/2 mile walk. All the sun loungers are claimed by 08:00 and the table for the evening's entertainment by 17:00. The lifts in the Saturno were constantly breaking down, tough luck if you are the 9th floor. The poolside quickly littered with palstic cups and plates, this was the fault of the holiday makers but the staff did not attempt to clean up until the pool statred to empty (too busy to try sooner).
Don't get me wrong - the facilities were reasonably good, there is even a shop on site that sells T shirts/caps/bags etc cheaper than the local market, it's just that the complex cannot cope with anything over than 2000 people and a quick count showed bed for 3550 people.
I will not go to this resort again, Oh and the COSMOS were a waste of time

We had a fantastic time.
After reading some of the other peoples reviews i couldnt believe we had been on the same holiday.
The kiddies entertainment staff were fantastic my daughter still mentions bart and stevie who she took a shine to and had a soft spot for at 8 years old .
The evening entertainment was brill things like abba and moulin rouge my son who was 12 put on a show with the help of the animation team with other older children.
Yes the seating was a bit hard to get and sat on sun loungers a couple of times, the food was fantastic something for everyone and the staff in the restaurant were exceptional.
The pirate show was brill and was a treat for my birthday
and every where in alcudia is so clean the old town is beautifil as is the beach.
It was the best 2 week holiday we have had with our children
so dont be put off by the stories try it.
Yes a lot of people do dump their food instead of binning it but that is not the hotels fault only certain holiday makers,
go and enjoy. (st leonards on sea)

The whole family (3 generations) went. The holiday was great, we went into the town or on the beach each day. The food was o.k. Loved Alcudia.
The pool area wasn't very clean. The size of the complex a little too much.
Any of the childrens entertainment had to be paid locally (rip off) Don't bother with the 'Welcome meeting'. The evening entertainment was cheesy. The hotel staff (and the holiday reps) were unhelpful - we wanted a packed lunch one day and were told that we had to book an excursion in order to qualify, so we just waited around and took food from the snack bar - more than one way to skin a cat! If you don't mind little setbacks then go for it. I'd give it a 5 out of 10.

I have just viewed some of the reports people have sent in they are talking complete rubbish. The Marte, Saturno and Jupiter complex is superb from entertainment to the food it can not be falted one bit. The reps from airtours (Rory) espically were very helpful. My bags did not turn up for 24 hours due to Manchester Airport cockup and the reps phoned everywhere to find them and then give a cash sum for my inconvinence. So i would recommended this complex to any family.

This was our second time here, a lot had improved from the first visit in 2000, we were surprised at the amount of choices available for meals. A barbeque was on the go at lunch times outside and in the restaurant, we were offered so much variety, from steak nights. to skewered kebabs, all cooked fresh as you watched
in the centre of the restaurant, we had no complaints, too much choice sometimes
Our only small moan ,the entertainment could be improved when its cold, not enough room in 1 bar for all hotel guests, outside better idea in summer! We would go again,TIP; try less busy time if youve had a bad experience, its great!!!

We had read reports about this hotel which did worry us a bit. Our children are 4 and 8 and it was their first time abroad. It was a brilliant place for the whole family. The complex is big, many pools, bars, a children's area and a large lake. The complex is not very near to the shops/beach (about 20 minute walk) although there is a free beach bus from the hotel. The rooms were on the small side, but clean, although we did only have a change of towels once during our week. One word of warning, if you have two children, they will probably be using the bunk beds provided, which are a bit dodgy, the metal bars on the sides kept falling off and I was worried all week that my little boy was going to fall out of bed and end up on top of me! Not very safe! But that was probably the only thing we had a problem with. The staff were friendly and helpful, the complex was clean. The food was brilliant, so much choice three times a day and you could help yourself to whatever you wanted as many times! There wasn't always alot of choice on the childrens menu and they were only available for about 1 hour during each mealtime. But there definately was plenty of everything!!!! We loved it, especially the kids and they want to go back again next year.

The accomodation wasn't brilliant, but as we were all-inclusive it was suitable for sleeping etc. The pools were busy but sunloungers were available if you looked for them. The grounds were big enough to escape the noise of children. We had a lovely fortnight there, inspite of the mosquoitoes. We paid a lot more than £800 per adult - it was worth every penny.

We have just returned from this Hotel complex and having read some of the reports on this site before we went thought we were going to have the holiday from hell. How wrong can you be!!!!! The complex it'self is huge with something for everyone, and there was always a quiet corner to be found.
The complex it'self was clean and well maintained. Entertainment was predominatley at the Jupiter hotel part of the same complex and this was a combination of shows put on by the hotel entertainers and outside entertainers, some of the shows were excellent.
The restaurant and bar facilities were excellent, hardly any queues for the bar and the variety of food available in the snack bars and the restaurants was good. Though there was sometimes a queue for lunch in the restaurant as this was only served in the Jupiter hotel. Only fault was there was'nt much choice on the menu for vegetarians.
The room were basic but comfortable and maintained and cleaned to a high standard. One word of warning you can sometimes wait a long time for a lift, so if possible ask your travel agent to request a low floor. The amount of children playing in the lifts was kept to a minimum by a swipe card system which was required to operate the lift.

We had an absolutley fantastic time at this Hotel complex but one final word of warning, if you dont like children and the hustle and bustle of a busy hotel complex then dont go because you will hate it. There are three hotels in this complex and it is very very busy. It is predominantley a complex aimed at families, so anyone who does;nt fit in that category i would seriously suggest looks for somewhere else to stay.

This was the worst holiday I have ever been on! The hotel turned out to be 3 hotels with in excess of 4000 holiday makers! It was dirty, there was broken glass left round the pool for days, you had to queue for everything including meals, which were ok if you liked pork, and you had to get in early to get any food,if you hadn't saved a table for the night time by 6.00pm you had no chance of a table, by 12.00 there was no room in the pool (stated as 7 pools but really only 2 pools ok for adults), and poo was found in one pool!Whilst we were there there was an alledged rape of a boy by a hotel security man! Cosmos reps were awful. At 12.00 when the alll inclusive bar stopped everything closed so you had to leave the complex.A lot of the kids activities mentioned in the brocure were payable locally so remember to take lots of spending money!I have been on all inclusive holidays for the last 3 years and will do so again but will never go back to this hell hole again!
