The Balearics is the name given to the four main islands off the Mediterranean coast of Spain. Mallorca, Menorca and Ibiza are all popular tourist destinations, offering remarkably varied scenery as well as beach resorts that provide every kind of amenity. A narrow channel separates Ibiza from Formentera, the smallest inhabited island in the group.

Stayed for 14 nights all inclusive at the Victoria Playa and have to say overall it was a great holiday. First time to Menorca so wasn't sure what to expect but hotel located right on the beach in a lovely small pretty resort. The hotel was kept very clean throughout and all the staff we encountered were freindly and helpful. The food was pretty good for an all inclusive buffet style affair with plenty to choose from every mealtime. The beach is fantastic with warm shallow water for a good distance so safe for the kids and there is a lovely walk the length of the resort along a tiled prom that goes past the other hotels and a couple of bars on the way where you can sit with a drink and enjoy the wonderful sunsets. The transfer from the airport takes around thirty minutes and goes through some lovely countryside before reaching Santo Tomas. We found the bus service quite reliable and cheap and the drivers were friendly and took them to Ciutadella and Mahon for day trips. If you are looking for a small attractive resort to have a relaxing holiday then I can recommend Santo Tomas and if you have children and want a hotel that caters for all their needs then I can highly recommend the Victoria Playa. We enjoyed it so much we are going back for a week in October 2014 and have also booked for two weeks in August 2015. That's how highly I recommend it.
