Located close to the beach and offering comfortable accommodation, the Zoraida Garden Hotel welcomes you in a warm and pleasant atmosphere. The Zoraida Garden Hotel Roquetas de Mar is located just 2 kilometres from the city centre and 50 metres from the beach. The hotel consists of 353 rooms with some of them having balconies that offer spectacular sea views. The rooms are equipped with all the required basic amenities to ensure a comfortable stay.

If anybody English!!! is looking for a good holiday, then do not go here, it was the holiday from hell, all the staff and guests were rude, the beach will cut your feet open, not a grain ov sand in site, not child friendly at all n dangerous just totally horrible!!!!!!

"When we booked this hotel, we were not told that we would be spending 5 weeks in what amount..."

When we booked this hotel, we were not told that we would be spending 5 weeks in what amounted to a spanish old folks home, we were 24 brits in a hotel full of spanish pensioners. ALL of the entertainment, daytime and evening was for the elderly spanish. The standard of the food was very poor, presumably because they were budgeting for thr government subsidised pensioners. The pool was emptied after two weeks because it was 'too cold', yet every other hotel in the resort had water in their pools. Sitting on a sunbed around an empty pool just isn't the same! We discovered two cockroaches in our room, the hotel staff were dismissive and rude when told about this problem. This is a very poor choice for a winter holiday, if you think a hotel full of spanish pensioners is going to be quiet, think again, they argue, very loudly, about everything and anything, cards, bingo, ludo, dominoes, you name it. I'm not anti spanish, but there was a real feeling of exclusion among all of the british guests. All entertainment was in spanish, and all of the food was for the spanish. A really poor holiday.

I personally think that what other people have said on this website lied because my mother and me have been going there since 2007 been there in 2008 2009 and we are going back in Septemeber 2011 and we can not wait.

We think this hotel is suitable for people of all ages, it has 3 bars two outside and one inside, it also has a little night club where the music is a little loud but you can not hear it anywhere else in the hotel.

The staff are great, we have met a few funny ones while we have been there and made a few friends even though they are staff they are excellent and friendly, they will help out as much as they can.

Apparently as incredible as it seems the Spanish government were paying for Spain's equivalent of people on Social Security to holiday here. To say the clientele was mixed was a understatement. They took over the place and some of them were rather undesirable. Add to this the incredibly poor food supplied by the hotel which put everything together resulted in our holiday here being an absolute disaster. We could not wait to return home and civilisation!! To add insult the staff treated the British guests like dirt given priority to their own. Farnborough.

We found the hotel and most of the staff very good. The swimming pool was excellent , but no balls in pool, not even the blow-up type, although you are allowed to use lilo's and boats. As the pool was so big, they could use one area for games.
As we were all-inclusive, we aimed to stay at the hotel most of the time, but the entertain was all in Spanish, and nothing for any other nations. It was as though you were not there, if you were not spanish. As we could not understand what was happening or the majority of music, we had to go out to get entertainment, hence we then were not using our all-inclusive and having to pay outside, which made the holiday more expensive. We had 4 lads with us aged 17 - 19 who were very dissappointed, but they did enjoy the disco from 10.00pm onwards except that any age group were allowed in including very young children.
This made them feel awkward when dancing.
One main problem they suffer with is Flys. They are everywhere and even in the restaurant. Nothing is done to deter them at all. You are able to buy fly swotters though!

We found that the Spanish people outside the hotel did not want foreign holiday makers in the area especially in most of the shops where the assistants would serve the spanish first, who would be at the back of the queue.

This is a great shame as the area is really beautiful espically up in the mountains where there are spectacular views that you will not see anywhere else in the world. The only mistake we made was going to the Castle at Almaria. It is free to go in, but if you want to buy the book it is 17 euros. Unfortunately as we found out later, you need the book as there are no tour guides and all the information is only in Spanish, so we know no more about the place now than we did before we spent 3 - 4 hours in there. After our visit we all said that we felt cheated, as there is so much history there, but no way unless you buy the book of finding out about it.

All of us enjoyed the holiday but that could have been because there were 8 of us and we found our own entertainment elsewhere.

When we booked this holiday we asked about childrens entertainment as this is the most important aspect of our holiday. We were told there were childrens entertainment. However when we got here, the holidaymakers were more elderly, the childrens nighttime entertainment was a half hour disco at 9pm, and the childrens daytime entertainment was an hour for each age group! The food was not very much choice and little in the way for children. The only good thing about this hotel for the kids is the massive swimming pool. If you are past fifty this is a great place. We only booked a few weeks before we went but ended up with a room with a great sea view. No children with us but the pool areas are quite large and clean. The food was buffet style and the choice could have perhaps been a little bit better, but not bad nonetheless. Roquetas suits us as it is flat and there are plenty of nice walks along the prom etc. Still a relatively quiet resort with excellent weather for the time of year (October).
Would go again, might try the Sabinal next time for a change.
