This was an outstanding walking holiday in the Austrian Alps with the most spectacular scenery to drool over as you take the cable car up to 3,000 metres. The Austrians certainly know how to cater for walkers with good maps, clearly marked paths, views to die for and a mountain cafe seemingly around every corner!
The Hotel Orgler in Kaprun, although largely geared for skiers (as is the entire area), is one of those special hotels you stumble across only rarely in your travels. Outstanding food, relaxing saunea and jacuzzi, log fires in the bar, excellent beer, unobtrusive staff, great entertainment (twice a week).
This was our first trip to Austria. It certainly won't be our last. Go and enjoy!
