| | Comments: | the holiday was what we wanted ,we used the apartments for a base, we were there 1 week. we visited gibralter,rhonda,granada ,nerja which we did by local transport-from torremolinos bus station or malaga b.stat.cheap and very clean.granada is a must lovely ride through the coutryside and the bus stops at a lovely spanish town called lojas (approx 25 mins).we took taxi from bus station only 1,500 pts, the alhambra is breath taking only 1000 pts (approx 4 pounds)well worth it,there is a little red bus outside the alhambra that takes you back into town 40 pence you go through the winding streets another nice ride! Gibralter- take the bus from torremolinos 7.25am stops at the last spanish town called la linea only 400meteres to the crossing into Gibralter 1 litre of rum 5pounds!! 200 ciggies 6.70!! only allowed to bring out 1 litre of spirits and 200 ciggies each!!! and dont try to bring anymore out we got stopped and so did others you have been warned.the last bus leaves la linea at 5.15pm .If you go to rhonda there is a lovely view from a local house you go over the famous gorge away from the main square 1st turning on your right by the side of a shop selling ceramics keep to your right hand side and the house is 2mins walk up the street on your right entrance is 1 euro(60 pence). Nerja caves a must they were found by accident in 1959 by 2 boys playing.the only thing here is the caves are closed for siesta 2-5 not very much to get in couple of pounds at most .we got the bus from malaga and the bus stops outside the caves and also picks up for the return journey from there also. The area around the apartments is typical of a tourist area ,hotels shops bars etc, the apartments were i feel more of a 3 star they were very clean an the staff were helpful they have lovely gardens and pool area .will be going back next year.
