|This resort was excatly what we were looking for. We wanted a quiet base but within easy reach of tavernas and entertainment if we wanted it. That is what we got. It was blissful. Overlooking the sea and within 50 yards of a really sandy beach and clear, calm sea which was very safe with a gentle slope.|
The owners are really friendly and helpful. The local tavernas were really good and particularly one which was run by English people but offerd excellent cuisine and a more relaxed and Greek ambience than many Greek run tavernas - Petrinos Kipos. This restaurant is situated on the neighbouring Ambula Beach road between Tsilivi and Kipseli - go there, you won't be disappointed.
Overall, a fantastic fortnight with unbroken sun and no nasty shocks. It was what 'it says on the tin'!
Only grip would be that the shower was not too good, the water supply quite eratic in pressure and temporature - but it is Greece!

|When you opt for holidays in Tragaki, you get the serenity of the hills … within walking distance of the sea. Here on the slopes of Kavelaris hill, you're surrounded by lush greenery, gazing down on the cool blue of the Ionian, and catching the scent of wild thyme carried on the breeze. This little rural hamlet feels removed from the real world, in a pocket of peace and privacy. Yet the shops, tavernas and beautiful beach of Tsilivi are within easy walking distance. And you're actually only three miles from Zakynthos Town. So Tragaki holidays are perfectly placed for pleasing yourself – at your own pace. You could spend the whole day in the bustle of the island's capital – shopping, sightseeing and sampling the bars and restaurants. Wander down to Tsilivi for watersports, soft sands and souvenir hunting. Or head for one of several local bays that seem to have slipped under the tourist radar …Bouka, Amboula and Katragati are undisturbed and largely undiscovered.
|As with all the most popular European destinations, you will find a massive amount of British type bars, pubs and tavernas, serving regular helpings of the sort of food you could find in any seaside resort back home. All meals come with chips, if that’s how you like it, but if you look around, there's Chinese, Italian and French restaurants to try too. If it's the more traditional style your looking for, grilled or fried Chicken, Lamb, Squid and Octopus can be enjoyed with fantastic salads sprinkled in Olive oil. Mzedes( a combination of local dishes), Souvlaki( kebabs), Stifado( local stew) and Fish are dishes found throughout the country and are well worth trying. Most resorts provide a great choice of beers, wines and spirits but expect to pay more for the imported ones.|
