| | Comments: | | St Albans Moathouse is typically very good . Excellent breakfast, good pool ,gym facilities-all mod cons etc. Bar pricey, as you would expect. The hotel would be better if it was actually in St Albans, as the two nearby villages of Redbourn and Markyate do not offer much in the way of entertainment or good pubs. Although the little village of Flamstead has a decent one (The 3 Blackbirds). Otherwise it means a 7 mile drive into St Albans of which part is very picturesque i.e. cathedral, park, small shopping centre and bistro area. Ok for daytime but transport problem of a night. (Merseyside) | |
