Comments:
After many years saving my family and I fulfilled one of our dreams to holiday in Cape Cod. Cape Cod lived up to our expectations and is truly a wonderful place to visit with the only exception being The Harbor House Inn, Hyannis, MA.

Because this was a dream holiday we decided to pay a bit extra and on hearing from the Innkeeper and viewing through the internet we booked the Harbor Suite at the Inn.

Unfortunately the suite is misrepresented on the website and the smooth talking Ken Komenda (Innkeeper) is clearly at ease and gifted with his graphic descriptions of the 'all suites' accommodation at the Harbor House Inn.

One of the unfortunate things about the Harbor suite is that it is located directly above Mr Komenda's kitchen and office. When he or his staff start work at 6.30am you have the pleasure of hearing the preparation procedures and also have the added bonus of the frequent barking of the owner’s dog. Yes you do not need an alarm when staying at the Harbor Suite as the staff will ensure that you do not miss breakfast.

The website says that the suite can accommodate 8 persons. We had 6 in our party and it was a squeeze, particularly as the second bedroom doubled as the kitchen!

I see from other reviews that the succulent and hearty breakfasts at the Inn come into some criticism. Unfortunately again it’s true with the Innkeepers office doubling as the breakfast area. Also one waffle maker between all guests is efficiency at its best!

The location of the Inn is also enhanced by the literary skills of the owner. Yes it is near Hyannis Harbour, however its across the road and has the wonderful outlook of a short term car park.

The final insult and problem with our stay was in relation to our exit. We made a genuine mistake in believing that our stay was inclusive dates. On what turned out to be our last day we returned to our accommodation to see that all our possessions and valuables had been moved to another room. Unfortunately this move had not been done in a very caring way and a number of items were damaged. Additionally my sister in laws valuable eternity ring was initially missing, although eventually we found it in the bottom of a bag. This obviously caused her considerable distress and upset and therefore we decided to immediately leave the Inn and move on to other accommodation.

On returning to the UK we discovered that our credit card had been debited with additional amounts and on speaking to Mr Komenda he promised to provide a justification and breakdown of these costs. Unfortunately despite repeated phone calls and e-mails Mr Komenda has so far failed to honour these promises. I have been civil and polite in my dealings with Mr Komenda, however his continued arrogance to the situation has led me to make this review.

As I stated at the start of this review Cape Cod is wonderful and you should make a visit, however be sure not to stay at THE HARBOR HOUSE INN
