| | Comments: | | My husband and myself stayed at the Club Atlantis in a private rented studio for one week and found it to be the perfect place for a relaxing holiday. The aparthotel was very clean, both inside and at the pool area. There was no noise from traffic or pubs etc. There were mainly couples from about 30's and over. The staff were friendly, gave advice, info and maps on how to get around and see things. There is a pool bar, which do snacks and nice cool generous sized drinks! There are plenty sunbeds to go around so no need to get up early. We had the sun on our balcony from 2pm onwards until sunset so we sat up there on the reclining chairs, had a few drinks and a snooze till evening. The apartment was home from home beimg privately owned, but Im sure the ones you can rent from club Atlantis would be of a high standard too being a 4* aparthotel. Saw no cockroaches in room or hotel. There used to be a restaurant in the hotel but it is closed for refurbishment, but you will be spoilt for choice as there are so many restaurants and cafes right across the road or just up the hill. Across the road there is Puerto Colon centre where there are a few small supermarkets for your daily needs. There is a chinese restaurant there called The China Garden where you can get a buffet for 5 eur or choose from their £ course menu for the samr price but if there are two of you, you get a free bottle of wine. Tasty food and wine not too bad either. We ate most mornings at a place at the seafront called the Oceano, where we got a full breakfast for 1.50 eur each. Not worth buying or cooking your own at that price! If you are having a walk about and see Bella Pasta take away pizzas, do take one away, they are delicious. There is a lovely new centre uphill, the San Eugenio centre, it has a lot of designer shops, also try out the special price menu at the Indian restaurant up the stairs, very good value, great food. There is a market on a Thursday and Saturday about 5 mins walk away, it is a busy place, but if you like markets you should go. We walked to the waterpark one day, 15 minutes uphill, did us good after overeating! Its not a huge waterpark but the dolphin show is well worth seeing. Ask at the reception for a map of the streets etc and they will give you directions to get to places you want to go to. We went to the beach most days, which is a 5 min walk, it was 25-30 degrees during the day, and you get a lovely tan down at the beach. If you have kids, there is an inflatable iceberg that you can climb up, with chutes and trampolines, out in the sea, just a wee bit from the shore. Dont know how much it cost but it looked like fun. Club Atlantis is right beside Puerto Colon Marina and also beside the Geranium Walk which is a promenade that goes either way of Las Americas to the other neighbouring resorts. It is a lovely walk in the morning, see the boats and pop in to a small bar/cafe for a drink. We went to various places of entertainment at nights. Our favourite was Tucans, not far up the hill, where we went to an Elvis night, a Rod Stewart night, and a chubby Brown night. The drink was cheap enough too and the staff pleasant. All in all I would say Club Atlantis is the place to go if you want peace and relaxation during the day, but also there is plenty choice in the resort if you want livlier nights. We will go back ourselves to Club Atlantis, but since there is nothing for children to do we will take them to a hotel nearby as there is still plenty for them to do in the resort itself. I would recommend this aparthotel to anyone, so if you go, hope you have a brilliant time! (Moray) | | | First | Previous | Next | Last | |
