| | Comments: | This has got to be one of the best beach holidays we have ever been on. The staff at the hotel were excellent, particularly the cleaner who was assigned to our room every day, who always gave us a cheery good morning and told us to have a good day. Also the pool attendant was really good, he always cam over for a brief chat but wasn't intrusive.
On a few mornings when my husband wasn't at the pool, he always cam to check everything with me was fine, and brought us more towels and moved our sunshade - really we couldn't ask for more. Whilst we didn't go on any tours, there are plenty of opportunities to do so. The resort at Naama Bay was close by and offered many great restaurants including the usual tourist fare of pizza hut, hard rock, TGI Fridays etc which were all fine and very reasonably priced. Also a local restaurant called Pomodoro was really excellent, offering a range of food and a separate Tandoori restaurant, you would struggle to spend over £30 on a three course meal for two people.
There are a few things about the Hyatt which could be improved, but which didn't spoil the enjoyment of our holiday. Firstly the hotel prices are quite high, particularly when compared to the resort. However in saying that they are no more expensive than in the UK, and I would thoroughly recommend Sala Thai (make sure to ask for a table on the balcony). I had the best squid ever (and was totally confident in the chef / food, otherwise this is not something I would have chosen in Egypt based on the stories from other holidaymakers about Egyptian tummies).
Secondly the hotel is a bit out of the main resort and although we normally like to walk, we ended up getting taxis in and out. The taxis are cheap, about £3 sterling each way, but this does add up over a fortnight. The hotel runs a shuttle bus, but queues are typically long and it only leaves at 5pm and 9pm, returning at 8pm and midnight, which won't suit most people. Thirdly there are few activities around the pool so if you are after a bit of action, you might find the Hyatt a bit quiet. It was perfect for us, but the odd game of pool volleyball never does much harm!
I think anyone going to the Hyatt will have a really enjoyable time there, we certainly did and would hope to return in the future.
