| | Comments: | The Hilton Sharks Bay is a great hotel with all the amenities you could wish for. The rooms are modern and spacious (even if the balcony is a little cramped). We arrived at the start of October and were soon glad that we were not there in the hight of the summer, it was 40 degrees C for the first 3 days and cooled to 33 for the remaining 4. The restaurants were very clean and with plenty of choice. There is a themed night every night (repeated every 7 days) but some nights it was a little hard to see what the theme actually was! The service was second to none, the waiting staff were extremely friendly and always laughing and joking with you, as were all the hotel staff.
The hotel pools were very nice with the activities (water polo / water volleyball) going on in the shallow end and the deep end is where the swim up bar is. There is also a baby pool and a quieter pool which is away from the main pool. The snorkelling and scuba is fantastic from the jetty, the amount, variety and colour of the coral and fish is outstanding had very highlt recommended.
The only down side to the holiday is the fact that they were preparing the land next to the hotel ready to build a new hotel so the constant thud of the jack hammers was a little disturbing but once you were used to them or listen to your ipod it wasn't that bad.
On the whole the hotel is well worth the money.
