| | Comments: | Portugal shares the same GMT as Great Britain, however I felt I had lost some time on arrival. 40 yrs in effect. Once shown to our room ,in which there was an foul smell,I got out the cleaning fluid to try to remove the horrid pong.
On about day 4 we found we had no hot water. I reported it and was informed there was a problem with a pipe in the hotel. It lasted 24 hours. The following day there was no electricity. I went to reception to complain and was told it wasnt the hotels fault and to ring the electricity company myself.
The bathroom had a light panel in which two 10cm cockroaches were trapped. I complained after finding another under a bed. I was jokingly advised not to eat it .
The kitchen facilities were grim .I was able to shower and dry my hair before the electric hob had heated enough water for coffee. I made toast yet when I removed the plug from the socket, the socket came too !
Definately not 4*. If advertised as 2* ,no one will have other expectations.
