Part of the Protur Group of hotels, the 4 star Hotel Sa Coma Playa is situated along the central east coast of Majorca in the quiet "El Dorado" district of Sa Coma and close to the Punta NAmer Natural Park. The hotel is approximately 65km east of the capital Palma and the Son Sant Joan International airport, and 350 metres from both the Sa Coma resort centre with its selection of bars, restaurants and cafes, and the wide sandy resort beach.Built in 1985 and fully refurbished during the winter of 2002, the modern Hotel Sa Coma Playa has a total of 326 guest rooms, including 250 twin rooms, 15 suites and 61 single rooms, that are built over 7 floors and set amidst 20,000m2 of landscaped Mediterranean style gardens and sun terraces.All guest rooms at the hotel are either air conditioned or centrally heated according to the season, and come equipped with a fully fitted en suite bathroom with shower and hairdryer, along with a safety deposit box available for rental, direct dial telephone, satellite television, mini bar and either a balcony or terrace, most of which have pool and garden views. | | Comments: | The duration of our holiday was four weeks, Hotel decor first class. Day time entertainment was non existant, evening entertainment was poor, with only the occasional show, but mainly background music. Pedominately German clientel, (there were only six other British guests there when we stayed.) The resort was also predominately geared towards German holiday makers. Sa Coma, we were told doesn't open until 1st May, and there were only a handful of shops open. Thomson shouldn't allow tourists to book this resort or Hotel until 1st May! Over all the holiday was poor and we requested to be moved to a more lively Hotel, four weeks in this Hotel would have been a disaster. We spent most of our time in our room reading, or waling along the deserted promenade. We would not reccommend anyone to visit this Hotel at this time of year!!!!
