| | Comments: | As expected for a marriot hotel, the standard was a good one, with only a few petty things spoiling it.
One of the main draw backs was the bar closing between 23.30 - 0.00hrs with only a nightclub and a casino the only avenue for later drinks, the other was the very slow service in the bars.
Oviously you are paying five star prices and its a nice shock when you step outside the hotel as prices drop by more than half or more, also dont bother with the taxis out side the hotel as they are dear compared to the ones on the main road.
The restuarants i would recommend is definately Edu's on the main road going into panjim doesant look much from the outside but the food and service was of a high standard and our favourite eating place, Ma's kitchen was a big disapointment as the service was slow and the food slightly too cold for my liking.
The Goachinn was also very good and also the horse shoe< portuguese> was also very nice. Panjim is worth a visit espiecaly the church and also for the shops < adidas, nike & levis, lacoste> as there are bargains to be had.
Unfortunaely the beach next to the hotel on first view looks nice, but on closer viewing is a bit scruffy and the sea very dirty, but its worth a walk as it takes a good 25 minutes to walk to the one end and espiecally in the evening with the sunset in view.
The best beaches are to be had in the north, with candolin beach being my favourite as its more quieter and the beach shacks come in handy for cold drinks and decent food and in the evening lots of bars/restuarants & shops to view.
Goa is a lovely place and when i go back it will be in the north as there seems more going on, enjoy!! | |
