The luxurious hotel and conference centre sits in a fantastic central location overlooking Dam Square in the thriving heart of Amsterdam. As the largest 5- star conference hotel of the Benelux countries, it boasts an impressive assortment of accommodation types and an abundance of facilities to suit the needs of both the leisure and business visitor. The 468 individual rooms and 6 Junior Suites are complemented by a diverse array of restaurants, bars and public spaces. A fusion of the old and new prevails with regards to both styles of food and interior decor. Sample traditional Dutch cuisine in the sumptuous surroundings of the historical Winter-Garden and monumental Brasserie Reflet and indulge in Middle-Eastern delicacies in Bedouin. | | Comments: | Found hotel excellant for a long weekend. Staff were extremely professional and on checking in upgraded us, free of charge, to a large superior room overlooking Dam square. Although this made it a little noisy the view and being able to sit and watch all the activity more than made up for it. Breakfast isn't included but we did treat oursleves to this at 21 euro, it was more than we could eat and if you wish you could help yourself to free champagne but not for us at 8.30am. Location was perfect for a weekend, everywhere was within walking distance. The Jordaan area was our favourite and perfect for sitting by the canal at a sandwich/coffeeshop on a Sunday morning reading the papers and watching the locals, this really is a lovely area. The only downside to the location was that it is very close to the RDL, but where isn't, it didn't cause us any bother but seeing alot of the characters that were going in and out of this area we certainly didn't want to investigate anymore. The city was extremely busy and like all cities they play havoc with your feet so at the end of the day the Krasnapolsky was a clean, peaceful civilised haven and the perfect escape from the crowds, we found Amsterdam o.k but this hotel made it a brillant weekend.
