Comments:
We visited this hotel during the school October holiday for one week all inclusive.

This is a complex of two sister hotels, the Mirlos and the Tordos. We stayed in the Mirlos as the Tordos had been closed for the season.

The hotel is located in Palma Nova, only a short taxi ride from the airport it cost us about 30 Euros. It is close to a variety of shops and bars and you can walk in to Magaluf in about 5 to 10 minutes.

Palma Nova beach is only a minutes walk from back of the hotel and it is a lovely clean bay with a nice sandy beach.

To the front of the hotel there is a road and there is some building work going on, it looks like some private apartments, we didn't hear any noise and I think that these will be finished by the start of next season.

Our check in was quick and efficient, the reception staff spoke good English and were polite and helpful. The reception area was bright, clean and looked as if it had been recently decorated. It had a modern contempory feel. There were lots of flat screen TV's around in the lounge and bar areas, and lovely seating areas.

We were glad that we had asked for a room with a pool view, it was lovely. Our room was clean and well decorated but it was rather cramped and we could hardly walk past the three beds. The camp bed was very uncomfortable. We had a small balcony with plastic furniture but it didn't get the sun much so we hardly used it. There was no fridge in the room but you can hire one from reception if you want to. Rooms were cleaned daily and towels changed when you put them in to the bath.

The pool areas were lovely, there was a large free form pool at the Mirlos but the only down side to this one was that it seemed to get shaded quite a lot. There was also a lovely chilsren's pool with a Fintstones theme, it had lots of slides etc.

The children's play area looked good too, we saw a large climbing wall, trampoline etc. Loads for the younger children to do.

We used the pool area by the Tordos Hotel as it seemed to stay sunnier throughout the day.

The weather was rather hit and miss during our stay but this is to be expected in October, we had about three sunny days during the week.

The food was generally good, there was a chef to fry eggs and make fresh omlettes for breakfast,a large selection of freshly made pastries and breads which were delicious, lots of fresh fruits and yoghurts, all in all something to suit most tastes.

As with most hotels you had to get your timing right and wait for the fresh trays of food to be put out.

The lunches and dinners also offered a good vatiety of dishes, chicken breasts, turkey, lamb and pork chops, steaks and fish cooked on the griddle. There was also paella and rice dishes (these were nice when freshly cooked but were left out for hours and thus lost their appeal)

Plenty of salads and a limited variety of fresh veg. The soups were lovely and there was a microwave to warm them up if you needed to Desserts were ok and the fresh fruit was lovely.

The snacks consited of diy toasties, hotdogs and re heated chips but you could also make yourself a lovely ham or cheese baguette.

The staff at this hotel were generally were pleasent and helpful, there was only the odd bar man that we found impossible to make smile.

The only thing that I feel that let this hotel down was the quality of the evening entertaiment, maybe this was due to the fact that it was the end of the season.

We have stayed in another Sol hotel recently and have been impressed by the standard of their hotels. We wouldn't hesitate to reccommend this hotel and would lkke to return.
