Set in its own private gardens, extending to 6 acres, just a mile south of the village of Bowness on Windermere. Views over the lake and to the fells are spectacular whatever time of the year. One of Lindeth Howes most famous owners was the popular childrens author Beatrix Potter. There was a small pool and sauna and very small gym. The hotel itself was very comfortable, but the average age of fellow guests was 55ys upwards. We stayed for 2 nights including Valentines and decided to go out rather than eat in, as the menu was very expensive and we had noticed some new places to eat in Bowness and Windermere, also we felt like we were the youngest there (we are 40 yrs of age) I would recommend this hotel for people between the ages of 55 and 80ys. Definately not for children and anyone under 40 who enjoys being alive!!
