Comments:
A very enjoyable holiday in a beautiful country. We stayed 2 weeks in the Marriott Resort ad Spa in Hua Hin a 3 hour drive from the airport. The hotel is right on the beach and our room was literally on the sand. The resort is on the edge of the town of Hua Hin and it is a 5/10 minute walk to a good selection of restaurants all of which are very reasonably priced with a varied menu. We ate a couple of times in the hotel and the food was of a very good standard.

The beach is clean and is not crowded. The local 'traders' walk the beach selling their crafts and a polite no is usually sufficient if you do not want to purchase.

The hotel was very clean and the staff were excellent and I would not hesitate in recommending the Marriott.

We also stayed 2 weeks in the Amari Palm Reef on Chaweng Beach, in Koh Samui. The hotel is situated on both sides of the road and we would generally prefer to stay beachside. However, as the rooms were larger across the road we decided to forgo it this time. We were not disappointed. The pool area was well laid out and very quiet, so much so that there were times when we were the only guests around the pool.

Again a very nce hotel with a very helpful staff. The main street is well served with restaurants, shops and bars. The good thing about the Amari from our point of view was that it was away from the bars and clubs but only a short walk from the action.

Again the restaurants on Chaweng Beach are very good value for money with a good selection of local and European. The food in the hotel was excellent and good value.

I would not hesitate in recommeding the Amari either for couples or families
