I would recommend the experience but it's not a place we would go back too. Our hotel was right in the middle of a shopping district in Kowloon, lots of restaurants and bars. Not a lot of Vegetarian choice, all of the menus are in Chinese with not a lot of English translation. We also got refused one Vegetarian restaurant because we were not Chinese, the place was totally empty but they insisted that it was fully booked!! I would recommend The Peak for views over Hong Kong and Kowloon, take plenty of camera film. Also go down to the harbour front at dusk and watch all the lights come on, very romantic. Temple Street market was very good as well but be prepared to haggle and watch out for pickpockets. Shopping on the whole was very cheap excellent for copy handbags and other copies.
