| | Comments: | We are now left feeling totally upset, worn out and ready for a real holiday following our 10 night ordeal at this hotel! Unlike the misrepresentation in the brochures/ website the hotel is surrounded with water that looks like swamps and smells like sewage. The exclusive use of the beach club enticed us to the hotel as we were quite happy with the el paso in the same resort last year. Upon arrival we find it isn't open, which was the first we'd heard as no communication was received prior to arrival to inform us otherwise, even today there is still no mention of the delay in opening the club on the website and therefore they continue to mislead clients! Staff at the hotel are rude and unhelpful apart from the bell boys who couldn't of been more friendly and helpful. Staff in cafe aventura and Pica Pica were the worst, Never a thank you or gracias was offered. Lifeguards were obnoxious and told toddlers off for playing with small beach toys, however animation staff were allowed to play volley ball in the main part of the pool! Staff in Guest Services were usually polite however often unable to help until the next day when they could speak to their supervisor. The hotel in itself no where near deserves the 4stars it boasts, the corridors and facilities are shabby and unkempt, however the uncleanliness was the most offensive part of the problem! We changed rooms 3 times due to uncleanliness, smell of sewage coming from the 'swamps' or lakes as the hotel call them, and the infestation of insects/ants! The last room we stayed in was not so conveniently situated above the hotels rubbish dump, which also produced the most revolting stench! by this point we were just ready to leave for home and felt exhausted by the whole experience.
