Enjoying fabulous views over Machico Bay, the Dom Pedro Baia hotel is centrally located at the heart of the tourist centre of Machico (Funchal) some 50 m from the beach. Various commercial areas with shops, boutiques, bars and restaurants are to be found in the vicinity and there are many excellent walking trails to be found close by making this an ideal stopover point for those wishing to explore the local area. It is just a short walk, for example, from the historical fishing village of Machico and links to the public transport network equally lie within walking distance. The nearest airport is just 5 km away. Rooms at the Dom Pedro Baia have a direct dial telephone, TV with 10 channels, central heating, room safe and laundry service upon request. Club Rooms are more exclusive accommodation with extra services, a balcony with sea views, mini-bar, tea and coffee making facilities as well as bathrobes and hairdryer in the bathroom.

| | Comments: | Hotel was nice & clean although is in desperate need of air conditioning, staff were extremely helpful, not the ideal place for children as little for them to do, resort is very quiet although we were lucky to be there for 1 week while the festival was on otherwise the resort does resemble a ghost town.
Buses are frequent into Funchal where there is a wider selection of activities to do.
Food although plentiful does lack a wide choice for main course & no accountablilty for children is taken into consideration, would go again but only for a week as long as it coinsided with festival(1st week in August)& they had installed air conditioning.
