| | Comments: | Madeira is a beautiful island and the Carlton Park a really good five star hotel. The bedrooms are large and well furnished, always clean and the views over Funchal with the christmas lights are stunning. Although we were only on a b/b basis we did have the Cristmas Gala dinner, food and service were excellent and the entertainment during and after dinner was 1st class
The whole of the island is beautiful but a few trips we reccomend are Nuns Valley, both north and south coasts, the cable car ride(very high and very safe)and the toboggan from Monte, be prepared to tip the pushers as they almost beg for it at the bottom of the ride
definately worth a return visit both to the island and the hotel | |
