Hotel Parco dei Principi Address: Via Rota 1, Sorrento 80067, Italy Designed and furnished throughout by Gio Ponti in 1962, Parco dei Principi Hotel Sorrento still preserves the designers original work intact. The property is amidst majestic gardens, with evocative scenes of classical architecture within the rare specimens of beautiful trees. The guestrooms still preserve their original Gio Ponti design and layout and are located on either side of the hotel to overlook the sea or the gardens from their terrace or balcony. The views from the terraces were worth the price of the holiday alone! Sitting in the restuarant, first thing in the morning watching fishermen work from small boats below. The sunset over Vesuvius...wonderful. The hotel is set in a very large park, so there is no traffic noise, and if you don't have a sea view, you still gaze over the park. I'm sure if I had had a sea view I would have spent the whole holiday in my room looking out. Cruise liners pass along in front of the hotel, and you are gald you are not stuck on there.From Sant Angnelo, Sorrento, you can visit Capri, Amalfi, Naples and of course Pompeii, so there is no shortage of sightseeing opportunities. I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel, and resort to others.
