| | Comments: | If you are considering taking your family to this or any of the Capistrano sister resorts in Nerja for a poolside holiday think again. The restrictions imposed by the operators of the pools does not allow the following.
Playing with balls, Use of rubber rings and lilos, use of snorkels, goggles, flippers. I warn you that if your children enjoy these activities, and you have booked thinking that you will be allowed to do them you will have a fairly frustrating time around the pool.
The accomodation we visited we felt was not as well furnished as it should have been (the sofa covering material was threadbare to an extent where you could see the foam backing, dining chairs in a particularly bad state of disrepair, brown mark running down from the overflow to the drain in the bath). Certain civil works where required to be carried out on the building such as fitting of new patio doors. We left it too late to complain, but feel that we may have just been unfortunate in the allocation.
If you are self catering, do not expect to have a washing machine available, as it is up to the discretion of the owner, not the company you are leasing off, whether he leaves it available (in my accomodation, the lead had been removed, and in another situation, a chain was placed around the door to stop the opening operation of the machine.
The resort of Nerja itself is fine with many places to eat and shop etc. The beaches are slightly stony but clean and the Capistrano Village is also pleasant bar the above.
As you have probably already guessed, I shall not be visiting this area again.
