| | Comments: | The Polis area is, as yet, undeveloped and consequently the visitor enjoys a taste of Cyprus warts and all. Despite or because of it's lack of development, Polis offers a very warm and very friendly welcome to visitors. The beaches are pebble but very clean, the shops are basic but very cheap and the nightlife around the town square, whilst limited, offers the mature visitor good cheap food, good cheap drinks and loads of character, without the noise. Because of it's location, if you want to see more of the island, car or bike hire is a must and there are plenty of cheap deals available in the town or you can have vehicles from the major hire companies delivered and collected from your accomodation by rental companies in Paphos. Polis is not a resort for the younger crowd, but will certainly appeal to those who are looking for a quiet, relaxing holiday away from the maddening crowd, but don't expect 5 star accomodation!
