| | Comments: | | If your looking for a quiet relaxing holiday and a chance to see more of the REAL Cyprus, then this part of the island is for you. Latchi is only a small fishing village, but the harbour is beautiful, there are a handful of shops, bars and restaurants (one popular fish restaurant). Elia Latchi Holiday Village is set within lovely grounds, with a variety of accomodation. The restaurant (open air) overlooks the sea, which is nice on a warm evening. The undercover restaurant where breakfast is served also overlooks the sea. The main pool is excellent for adults and children, with bridge, waterfall, slide, jaccuzi type area, & childrens shallow section. This is just at the side of the main bar, so handy for sunbathing all day long at the same time as watching the children. We stayed in a one bedroomed maisonette with two sofa beds in the lounge area. It had a kitchen area, patio with dining table and chairs (plastic variety), air conditioning, and the main bedroom had a balcony. The bathroom was quite adequate, bath with shower over, wc and sink with plenty of storage space and lots of mirrors.(p.s. don't forget that in Cyprus you can't flush toilet paper down the toilet - but there's always a bin provided, which was emptied daily). There is a childrens club here, but we didn't use it as we were fully occupied anyway. There is also another pool, and a childrens paddling pool which is set within the large playground area. There's also crazy golf, football pitch and tennis courts. On site supermarket came in very useful too. We didn't make use of the launderette! (why wash your clothes when your on holiday?). We all had a wonderful time and will definitely be going there again and would reccomend Elia Latchi Holiday Village to anyone wanting a quiter holiday that isn't too far away from many main attractions, just hire a car - THEY DO DRIVE ON THE SAME SIDE AS US BRITS!! Just remember that this side of the island is less commercialised and therefore more realistic of the true Cyprus - if it's the night life you're after then try Ayia Napa (more like Blackpool) | |
