This lovely complex of 10 units is a five-minute walk from the center of Naoussa. It is a very pretty small complex built over several levels in Cycladic style, and with a small swimming pool and sun terrace. The exterior spaces are very attractive, with plenty of flowers and plants. Interiors are very well furnished, with studios and apartments including a kitchenette and satellite television. There are also several guest rooms without cooking facilities, and breakfast is available with extra charge. The complex has a snack bar offering room service, a television lounge, Internet access, and laundry facilities. Some of the studios and apartments have a view toward the bay of Naoussa. | | Please send in your pictures of this resort or hotel

| | Comments: | As a last minute grab because I forgot Valentine's Day (!), I wasn't really expecting a great deal from this holiday. When I found out about the two hour ferry ride, I wasn't over impressed either. Greece, however, with it's magical ability to astound time after time, proved me to be a cynic once again. From the moment my overtired eyes saw the sun come up through the ruins on the hills above Piraeus harbour, to the moment our ferry left Poros in the growing dusk seven days later, I didn't stop thinking how on earth I'd managed to not only get a holiday so late (and cheap) but also how lucky I was to have found a place so enchanting. I admit, the accommodation is still relatively rustic, and the driving (what few cars there are) is a little erratic, the place was ideal. The night life is low key but great fun (and refreshingly naive, especially for someone who worked in Benidorm for a summer!), the shops are ridiculously cheap, and the restaraunts were unfailingly good value for money.
The recommendation has to go to Matina's though. Run by an Anglo-Greek couple, the food was sumptous, the staff great fun, and the low slung decking that pushed the seating area of the restraunt 40 feet out into the bay made it one of the most amazing evenings of our lives!!! (I kid you not). All in all, I'd recommend Poros to anyone, particularly couples, but do not expect to be greeted by England in Greek, because this is a taste of real Greece, practicaly undiscovered, and delightful from start to finish...... | |
