| | Comments: | This was our second visit to the area as we had stayed in Pefkos the previous year and happened to see this hotel actually under construction on a walk from Pefkos to Lindos. The location is perfect, right on the beach down a long driveway and very peaceful. The hotel itself is the best we've ever stayed in, in the Greek islands and we have visited quite a few since 1989. We had fruit and wine on arrival in our room and the bed linen, towels and bathrobes were changed every single day of our 2 week stay. The staff could not do enough for us and the receptionists were really helpful. As we had an evening flight and had checked out of our room at midday the receptionist arranged for us to use one of the rooms later in the day, so we could have a shower and get ready for our homeward journey and we were not charged for this as we have been on many occasions before. If you are reasonably fit you can walk the short distance to either Pefkos or Lindos in the evening to sample the many Tavernas on offer. One of our favourite's in Pefkos (on the steep hill that goes down into the town on the road from Lindos) is Tsambikos, the food is typically greek and you get a wonderful view of the sea from the elevated position. Georges on the corner at the bottom of the hill is also excellent, the best stuffed aubergines we've ever had. We also had some fantastic nights in Lindos, the Cypriot Taverna near the Acropolis was excellent and very good value. We hired a car for 3 days and went right round the island, Rhodes Town is a must and even though we've been twice we still haven't seen all the Old Town. Butterfly Valley is beautiful, but if like me you have a phobia of moths, visit after September as they have all flown away by then, I was quite relieved when the girl on the kiosk appologised for there being no butterflies, as they are actually moths. The Italian Spa at Kalithea is worth a visit, but be very careful when walking around as I had a nasty fall when I tripped over some metal fencing panels which were laid on the floor. I am only in my forties and even though it shook me up at the time I soon got over it. But beware older people, you could so easily break a bone. When we finally had to leave the wonderful Lindos Memories we were given a bottle of the 'Lindos Memories' own wine as a memento and I was most surprised when we received a Christmas card from the Manager and Staff. We will most definately visit Lindos Memories again in the future and would not hesitate recommending anyone else to do so.
