We found the Vista De Ray to be an excelent choice for us, as it's in a very quiet area on the outskirts of Benelmadena.
We rooms were of the normal standard you expect in Spain, and as we had no intention of cooking while we were there, I could not tell you if they sef catering was any good or not.
We jumped the train a few times to visit the other resorts alond the coast, and would have no hesitation in returning one day.
Book a car or jump the train to visit other resorts along the coast, as this is a quiet area, bit there is a beach & harbour area to explore.

The Benalmadena coast is the main tourist area, the beaches stretch for 9kms. The marina has a wide selection of bars, restaurants and shops. It lies approximately thirty minutes from the airport.
The Costa del sol is famous for having plenty of restaurants serving a variety of English food, but it is well worth looking out for Spanish restaurants serving regional specialities. Spain is the home of the 'tapa' - a variety of small tasty dishes such as cheese, ham, sausage, omlette, vegetable/fish fritters etc etc which accompany drinks. There are also classic Spanish dishes which include 'paella'( a rice, seafood and meat dish), 'escalivado'( an olive oil dressed salad of baked vegetables), and 'cuzuela de mariscos'( a rich seafood stew) Both local and other Spanish wines are inexpensive and include Cava (a sparkling wine) and Muscatel (a sweet dessert wine). The most popular Spanish beer is 'San Miguel'.
