The Flatotel International hotel is situated in a quiet residential area a few kilometres from the shops, restaurants and pubs in the town centre. Torrequebrada golf course, the beach and train station are all close by, as are the Casino and the Puerto Marina.
Rooms at the Flatotel International have a fully equipped kitchen with a washing machine, fridge, oven and basic cutlery, bathroom, direct dial phone, TV, air-conditioning and heating, safety box and a balcony.

| | Comments: | My husband and I stayed at the Flatotel in September 2008. We were given a studio apartment (116B) directly above the bar, and when we tried to go to sleep the first night we couldn't, since it felt like we were sleeping in the bar!
We blasted the air-conditioning, but this didn't drown out the noise. We then went downstairs to the front desk, explained the situation, and asked if we could be switched to another room. We were told the hotel was full, and to come back in the morning.
When we went back, we were told that all the studio apartments were full, but that in 2 days some people would be checking out. Sleeping in that room was a nightmare, and having to endure 2 more nights of it was unthinkable!
We asked if we could be switched to a 1 or 2 bedroom apartment, and were told that those didn't contain kitchenettes, which is what we wanted as we’d already bought groceries and were planning to make some of our own meals. However, I remembered from the JM Vacations brochure that there were kitchenettes with the 1 and 2 bedroom apartments (the hotel staff had lied to our faces!), so I called the JM Vacations rep (the company with whom we’d booked the hotel).
She called the man at reception and talked with him, and told me that we could be upgraded to a 1 bedroom (with kitchenette) at an extra fee of 10 Euros a day. We didn’t think it was fair that we should pay to be moved, but since there was no availability at any other (similar) hotels, we decided to move apartments and talk to our travel agent once we got home about being reimbursed (which never happened).
Although the Flatotel staff were friendly and helpful when asked basic questions, when it came time to deal with problems, they showed us that they don’t care about customer service (and neither does JM Vacations).
The two rooms (both self-catering) in which we stayed were somewhat clean, although I wore my socks in the apartments the whole time so that my feet didn’t get dirty, and the cleaning staff don’t wash the dishes in between guests as some of the dishes contained food residues.
Although the hotel is right beside the ocean, you have to drive to the nicer beaches as well as restaurants and shops.
