The new boutique hotel overlooking the most fashionable waterway in the world welcomes Guests to its intimate home away from home. Piazza San Marco, the Fenice Theatre, Palazzo Grassi, as well as all the major attractions and principal monuments of the "Doges' city" can all be easily reached with a short walk or by using the vaporetto that stops a few metres from the hotel. Palazzo Sant’Angelo is the first hotel with its main entrance on the Grand Canal to open in more than a century. Formerly a private palace, the newly created hotel is awash in Venetian silk fabrics and antique furnishings. A three-story property. Its interior bedrooms open onto richly planted courtyard gardens, its suites fronting panoramic views of the Grand Canal itself between the Rialto and Academic bridges. All the rooms are sumptuous, the suites in particular, featuring red and gold silk wall coverings as well as antiques. The large bathrooms in white and green marble contain hydrojet bathtubs. The hotel's living room is a divine spot, with its large stone fireplace and its original Palladian floor. Guests gather for a sundowners in the intimate wood-panelled bar. |
