General Information
Located in the middle of Turkeys south coast, with its own international airport backed by the Taurus Mountains. Numerous beaches, most with sand and pebbles, some do receive aircraft noise during peak season. Founded in the second century BC, Turkeys 4th largest city boasts ancient minarets, mosques, a picture postcard harbour and a bustling shopping centre. Entertainment during the day could involve a lot of sightseeing including Hadrians Gate, the minaret Yivli-Minare and Ataturk Park. Of an evening, excellent restaurants around the harbour and marina, but pricey, fast food outlets. An abundance of bars and discos mostly around the harbour area. Excursions include trips to Karain caves, Duden waterfalls and the Taurus Mountains. Would suit holidaymakers looking for a more authentic and cultural Turkish vacation.
