| | General Information | | Fuerteventura is the second largest of the Canary islands, with a coastline made up almost entirely of golden beaches. Measuring about 65 miles in length, and only 20 miles wide, it is sparsely inhabited giving it an atmosphere of peace and tranquillity. Puerto del Rosario is the largest town, situated on the east coast, and is about 3 miles north of the airport. There are a good selection of bars and restaurants, and it is something of a windsurfers paradise | | Local Food | | A great choice of friendly bars and restaurants, ensure the all year round tourist trade has plenty of options when it comes to eating out.In some restaurants pictures of the meals available, have been photographed and are either shown at the front of the restaurants or on the menus. For local specialities why not try 'majorero' (goats cheese), roast or fried kid, or any kind of fresh fish. |
