| General Information | | Es Cana is only 16 miles from the airport, with a village backed by pine woods leading down to a blue flag beach. Most of the hotels tend to be of the 2 star variety and the apartments are of approximately the same standard. For the more active amongst you there is water skiing, pedalos, jet skis, mini golf, tennis and much more, while the local supermarkets provide a wide selection of souvenirs and gifts. Most of the night time entertainment is either in the local music bars or hotel discos, so it is not hard to see why the resort is aimed at a family market and not for the young and single. | Local Food | | Good value bars, pubs and restaurants cater for all tastes, with the odd fast food outlet available for a quick meal. Fish caught just off the coast and cooked into dishes such as Risotto a la Marinera (sea food risotto)and Pescaito Frito (mixed fried fish) are well worth a try, as are the many meat specials found on all the restaurant menus. Plenty of burgers, pizzas and even a Sunday roast, for those feeling a bit homesick, can be enjoyed in most of the British themed establishments, with a great variety of locally produced beers and wines to suit all tastes. Sangria must be tried while your here, as no Spanish holiday would be complete without it. |
