Weather Information Average Temperatures General Information Protaras lies on the east coast about 36 miles from the airport, and is a modern resort stretching for almost 9 miles. Fig Tree Bay and Pernera beaches, are made up of fine white sand with a great variety of water sports to try, while there are plenty of shops to cater for all your holiday requirements. A good choice of hotel and apartments are on offer, and the night brings enough bars and tavernas to keep you busy throughout the evening. Local Food Protaras has dozens of restaurants and fast food outlets, mainly catering for the usual tourist fare of pizza, curry, burgers and the like. However there are also some fantastic open air seafood restaurants serving local cuisine. The local beers are great but do be careful of all the Brandy Sours you'll be expected to drink, as it's made on the island, and is virtually given away.
