General Information
You will find some of Spain's most incredible beaches stretching along the Costa de la Luz shoreline for miles. Framed by undulating sand dunes , fragrant pine trees, and soft powdery sands . The breeze rolling in from the Atlantic creates superb conditions for a variety of watersports, attracting windsurfing fanatics from all over the world. The Costa de la Luz is home to some delicious specialities, including the authentic version of gazpacho - a chilled pureed soup of tomato, cucumber, peppers, onion and garlic. The nightlife along the unspoilt Costa de la Luz coastline is delightfully low-key, evenings are relaxed and typically consist of serene strolls along the shore as the sun sets in a blaze of orange and pink, sinking into the dramatic Atlantic Ocean.
Local Food
Probably the most popular European holiday destination in the world, the food is as varied as the many different nationalities that have settled here over the years. The most famous tourist dish, Paella, can be found in nearly every bar, hotel and restaurant in the country with other local dishes, Paps con Mojo (unpeeled potatoes cooked in seawater) and Gofio Escaldon (hand rolled balls of maize flour eaten with a dip) well worth a try. In the busiest of tourist resorts, Pizzas, Burger and other fast food outlets ensure all tastes are catered for, and most meals are served with a generous helping of chips and salad. Wines and beers are produced locally and are excellent value, as the imported ones tend to cost more and are sometimes inferior.
