General Information
Umag is located on the west side of the Istrian coastline, 40km north of Porec. Its charming small town character, with its medieval basilicas and beautiful scenery, have long been popular with tourists. With picturesque cobbled streets, attractive architecture and pretty squares, the compact Old Town sits on a headland overlooking the large semi-circular bay and marina. The central area is pedestrianised with lots of shops, bars, restaurants and cafes, whilst the lovely promenade is lined with busy fish restaurants offering stunning views of fancy yachts side by side with simple fishing boats in the town's harbour. Along the wooded 'riviera' stand the modern tourist resorts that have all the facilities a holidaymaker could wish for and some of the best sporting facilities in the area
