South America is becoming more and more popular with European visitors than ever before. In particular the countries of Brazil and Venezuela are even starting to appear in some UK tour operators' package holiday brochures. The most well known beach in Brazil is the famous Copacabana in Rio de Janeiro, but there are some quieter beach resorts becoming more easily accessible to tourists. These include Natal and Recife both in the north east of Brazil. Many people combine a stay at one of the excellent beach resorts with a trip to the Amazon and the stunning Iguassu Falls. Football and music are Brazilians favourite pastimes and wherever you go you are sure to see locals playing football and hear the carnival rhythm of the Samba.
