Maspalomas is a lot quieter than some of the other resorts, where almost all the accommodation is of the self catering kind. Splendid beaches are a feature of the resort, running almost unbroken towards Playa del Ingles and not forgetting the famous sand dunes to the back of them. Very popular in the peak season, so expect the beaches to be crowded with sun worshipers right up to the waters edge. A good variety of duty free is available in the commercial centres, while for the more active of us, can enjoy camel rides, horse riding or tennis. For night life you are best travelling into Playa del Ingles as there is a greater choice of bars and it's much cheaper.
