Kalithea Is on the east coast and lies about 8 miles from the airport at Halkidiki. A purpose built resort, it has many high class hotels on offer, with some small apartment blocks nearer the centre. The beach is very sandy and provides a good variety of water sports, but the shopping is quite limited with only a large supermarket and a few small tourist shops. At night, there are a couple of bars in the centre and most of the entertainment is provided by the hotels.
