Jamaica is one of the better known Caribbean islands with beautiful white sandy beaches and scenery. It is the third largest island in the West Indies with a population of about 2.5 million, its capital being Kingston. Famous for its rum and reggae music, notably Bob Marley, Jamaica can be reached either by direct flights from the UK or via Florida (Miami and Orlando). There are excellent water sports facilities, scuba diving and snorkelling to be found all over the island. The more adventurous try their hand at river rafting down the Martha Brae and Rio Grande Rivers. One of the most popular natural attractions is the Dunn's River Falls. Many hotels on the island are nowadays all-inclusive, which means they are almost resorts within themselves, offering drinks, food and water sports within the price paid upfront. Some of these hotels/resorts also have their own private beaches.
