However this resort has an amazing beach and therefore attracts a lot of tourists. The medieval watchtower that still keeps an eye on Isola Rossa is a reminder that this is an ancient Sardinian fishing village. And one that hasn't lost much of its traditional charm in the new tourism age. The pace of life is delightfully laid back. So it's easy to wallow in serenity as you sit in one of the cafes, sip a cappuccino and do little more than watch the world go by.
