Description This small quiet resort is on the north east coast of Thassos. As its name suggests, an excellent golden beach adorns this bay, which is backed by pine ladened hills and is overlooked by the mountains in the centre of this small-unspoilt island. In the peak months a water taxi service operates which will take you to and from Thassos town. For those wishing to travel further a field you will need to hire a car as the transport links are very limited in the area. Nightlife is limited to traditional Greek entertainment, but comfort can be gained in the knowledge that the tavernas and restaurants serve a fine selection of fresh local foods such as fish as well as a selection of local wines.
Small family run hotels and apartments are available giving the overall feel of a resort which caters for couples wishing to escape from the 100 mile per hour lifestyle back home.
The island of Thassos does not have an airport so transfer times form the nearest airport (Kavala) are around 4 hours approximately. The journey includes a two hour journey form the airport, 45minute hydrofoil and 45minute coach journey.
