Upon entering our bungalow which should have been described as a "concrete bunker", to what can only be described as utter disappointment to see concrete beds and furnishings that dated back to the 70 and the type of lights you would use on a shed.

You could easily have the best time of your life at the White Rocks. Not that its a problem if you do. Were just warning you that its highly likely you wont want to leave once you clap eyes on this place. Sitting pretty on a green cliff top, it overlooks the private bay of Platis Yialos, considered to be one of the islands most gorgeous sweeps of sands. And eye-poppingly gorgeous it is too. Cue cashmere-soft, snow-white shores that melt into the most turquoise of seas. All backed by jungle-like scenery. It could have easily fallen from the pages of a Robinson Crusoe book. And whats more, you can access it from the White Rocks gardens. The White Rocks Hotel and Bungalows hotel itself is a tranquil oasis waiting to welcome you in. Set around a crystal-clear pool that looks out to sea, its tucked away among pine trees and lush grounds that burst with colourful flowers. Rooms are sprinkled about in charming sugar-cube blocks, giving it a traditional Greek feel, yet the complex has an exclusive edge to it that makes you feel a world away from the stresses of everyday life. And then theres the peace and quiet, which most definitely go hand in hand here - so you can soak up those enchanting views like Mother Nature intended. When youre not hard at work unwinding, recharge your batteries with a gentle stroll into the resort centre where you can pop your head in and out of the friendly shops. Then at the end of the day, tuck into a slap up meal at the hotels open-plan restaurant where you can opt to dine under the stars on the al fresco terrace if the mood takes you. Holidays dont get any better than this. Just remember our warning though – White Rocks is highly infectious. | |
