We were very pleased when we were told that Monsieur Andreucci was going to build another villa next door to Vigna Maggiore. Having only worked with him for a short while, we very impressed by the design and quality finish of Vigna Maggiore, which was completed for summer 2006 and cant wait to see Villa Doniche which will be ready for 2007. The breathtaking views of the Valinco Gulf, coupled with a brand new villa, cannot fail to impress even those who have visited the stunning island of Corsica before. With an almost identical layout to Vigna Maggiore, Villa Doniche will have two airy bedrooms, one double and one twin, and a contemporary feel, sporting modern decor and high quality furniture and appliances. However, in contrast to Maggiore, Doniche will have 2 shower rooms, making it more suitable for two couples sharing. Next to the private pool and open-air shower, which have already been constructed, there is a large, stone-walled seating area with teak furniture and a shady parasol, where you can relax in comfort and marvel at the outstanding view down across the bay. Shade is also offered by the many mature trees which populate the hillside behind the pool. If you can bear to drag yourself away from the stunning vista, the hillside village of Olmeto and the larger port town of Propriano are just a short drive away and offer a selection of bars and restaurants. Also in the area is the prehistoric site of Filitosa, well worth a visit to see the array of huge standing stones, thought to be created around 1500 B.C. |
